This is an inclusive drumming and singing session for all abilities!
Drumming and singing together is:
A wonderful and accessible way to relieve stress and negative emotions
Experience a sense of unity and connection to others through the collective energy created
Inducing you into a calm, grounded state of awareness, enabling you to experience the present moment - like a form of meditation
Throughout history we have all drummed in circles, its part of who we are from healing, spiritual ceremonies, story telling, communication, religious rituals, celebrations to social gatherings etc its part of us all.
The circle of drumming represents balance, wholeness and equality.
Drumming is for everyone, all musical abillties and no previous experience is required.
We are ALL musical!
This is not music for performance or for recording, this is for us in the here and now, for our emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing.
My background being a community musician and Lifemusic facilitator making music accessible to everyone of all abilities to enjoy being in the moment, in flow together connected through sounds. We will use short songs as a scaffold to offer to the group, let the drums and percussion join and get lost in the sounds and rhythms taking us into a different state of consciousness where we feel relaxed, happy and free to to play and sing how we want!
What to expect: We will arrive and let ourselves settle into the space, brief introductions if people want and then get stuck into making music, drinks an snacks are available during the session.
Neurodivergent minds - this is a safe and inclusive space with no pressure to perform in a neurotypical way, as an AuDHD person I appreciate for some people, speaking in groups and sharing in circles may not feel comfortable and so people are free to do whatever feels comfortable for them with no expectations.
