A year ago I took a small step into the world of fitness coaching alongside my career in Osteopathy. I'd qualified as an osteopath at the age of 23 and spent the next 17 years building a client base, reputation and latterly, my own business - Core Osteo.
Osteopathy remains my primary focus but the opportunity to join the team at Patch Fitness last year was something I didn't want to turn down. I underestimated how hard the transition would be and how much I'd doubt myself in taking a slightly different career path, albeit only part-time. I struggled with a lack of confidence and would worry before shifts, doubting that I'd be able to coach in the same way as my colleagues in a high-quality fitness environment like Patch.
These same colleagues (who are all very much my friends) have helped me to grow over the last year, I've learnt from all of them and I'm grateful for their patience and support.
Today, I led my first solo "event" and I loved every second of it! Two fitness communities coming together in a friendly and welcoming space, I hope those that attended enjoyed it as much as I did and that their experience can enhance their own fitness journey.
I'm lucky to be able to now have 2 jobs that bring me great joy and satisfaction - which I'm aware is a huge privilege!! Whether you know me as Ben the Osteopath or Ben the Patch Coach, thank you for allowing me to help you in whichever way I can ππ» Here's to many more years of laughs, stories and dad jokes in any working environment that you find me in!!
