I've been lucky enough to call The Fitness Lab my home for Body Needs since December 2020 and what a home it has been. As a therapist who passionately believes in the benefit of moving our bodies and getting strong, having a clinic space in a gym is the perfect set up. Not only has it helped hundreds of people refine movement to get them back to their activities or sport, but it has also encouraged people who have been inactive to see that being active is for everybody and every body.
Places are made by people though. The Fitness Lab is undoubtedly a great set up but it's the people who have made it special. I've met many people, some just in passing as they joined classes, and others I've had the privilege of working with as clients. Some pass through the door occasionally, some see me as regular as clockwork, and lots more dip in and out as and when they need me. Some you know very little about and it stays that way throughout, and others you get to know very well and see them through the highs and lows of life as well as rehab. Some you know you make a difference to immediately and others you don't know until their family or friends turn up raving about you! And in these last few weeks, I've learnt that sometimes you make a kind of difference that you don't even realise you make until you decide to leave and people tell you just how important you are to them. Hearing such kind words and all the good luck wishes I've had has truly blown me away. Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years and trusted me to help you recover from injuries or maximise performance. What a journey!
One particular person though has had the biggest impact on my Fitness Lab chapter - Jude. She has been there from the start and yes she has been a fantastic person to work alongside, but she's been far more than that. She has championed me and my business, trusted me with her body, inspired me with her commitment to her health and fitness, listened to my rants, been a sounding board, and made me laugh when I wanted to cry! Thank you Jude, for everything β€οΈ
Here's to the next chapter...
