🍫 High-Protein Chocolate Mug Cake (No Flour, No Guilt)
Sometimes you want dessert… but you don’t want the sugar crash, the refined flour, or a mountain of carbs.
This quick chocolate mug cake takes less than 2 minutes to make and packs nearly 30g of protein, making it a great option after training or when you’re craving something sweet.
Recipe
Ingredients
* 1 scoop chocolate beef protein powder
* 1 egg
* 1 tbsp almond flour
* ½ tbsp cocoa powder
* 15ml maple syrup (1 tbsp)
* Just under ½ tsp baking powder
* 1 tbsp milk
Method
1. Mix all ingredients together in a mug or ramekin.
2. Microwave for 45–60 seconds.
3. Leave to cool for 1 minute.
4. Top with warm blueberries, Greek yogurt, or nut butter.
Why Beef Protein?
Unlike many protein powders, beef protein is:
✅ Naturally dairy-free
✅ Easy to digest for many people who struggle with whey
✅ Rich in amino acids that support muscle repair and recovery
✅ A convenient way to increase protein intake without relying on ultra-processed snacks
The beef protein I used contains almost 20g of protein per serving and creates a surprisingly light, cake-like texture when baked. And…no it doesn’t taste of beef!
A Smarter Dessert
Traditional chocolate cake can easily contain 40–60g of sugar and a large amount of refined flour.
This version provides:
✔ High-quality protein
✔ Healthy fats from almond flour and egg
✔ Much lower carbohydrate content
✔ Better satiety and blood sugar stability
Perfect for those looking to support body composition, blood sugar balance, or simply enjoy a healthier dessert option.
