I talk about hormones a lot. I find them fascinating. And yes, they can absolutely be part of the reason you don’t feel quite right.
But I think we’ve reached a point where almost every women’s health symptom seems to be met with the same answer: “you need to balance your hormones”.
And that doesn’t really tell us very much.
If hormones are out of balance, I want to know why.
Because they don’t operate independently of what else is going on in our bodies - or our lives.
What we eat (and whether we’re eating enough). Sleep. Stress. Nutrient status. Digestion. Genetics. Our environment. The support we have around us. The mental load we’re carrying. Our medical history.
And the combination of those things looks different for every woman.
That doesn’t mean we need to test, track and optimise everything - quite the opposite.
It means stepping away from the one-size-fits-all approach and peeling back the layers to understand, which pieces of the picture actually matter for you.
So yes, I still love hormones.
I’m just much more interested in the story behind them.
What do you wish you understood better about your own hormones?
