A huge well done to Lucy, who has progressed to Senior Care Professional in our branch.

Lucy joined Carefound Home Care in June 2025 as an hourly care professional and, over the past year, has worked incredibly hard to develop her skills and progress in her career. She is also working towards her Level 3 Diploma with us, which is a fantastic achievement.

Laura Hill, Registered Branch Manager in Harrogate, said:

Last week, we said farewell for now to our lovely Regional Care Manager, Carla, as she starts her maternity leave ahead of welcoming her baby boy 💙

Carla has been part of Carefound Home Care for 14 years and has made such a wonderful difference to our team, clients and families over the years.

She will be very much missed while she’s away, but we’re all so excited for her and can’t wait to welcome her back for baby cuddles.

We’re delighted to share that our branch has raised £515 for Harrogate & District Community Action after completing the Nidderdale Charity Walk & Run Sunday 17th May 2026 👏

The team completed the 15-mile route through upper Nidderdale in support of HADCA’s HELP services, which provide practical and emotional support to people across the Harrogate District.

This was our third year taking part in the event, and we’re so proud of everyone who completed the walk. A huge thank you to everyone who supported us and helped raise vital funds for such a wonderful local charity! 💙

Lovely to catch up with our trustee Alistair at the end of the Nidderdale Charity Walk & Run Sunday 17th May 2026 yesterday. 🌞

Alistair is also a member of the brilliant Rotary Club of Harrogate team who volunteer their time every year to organise the Walk and Run. A big thank you to them all for all their work getting everything ready for the day, their friendly welcome and encouragement around the route – and drinks and biscuits too of course!

The day gives people an opportunity to get active, enjoy being together in the lovely Nidderdale countryside with a route all ready to follow, and to raise much needed funds for local charities – an amazing over £1 million over the years. 🥳

Thank you to everyone supporting the vital work of our local charities, with special mention to our friends Carefound Home Care - Harrogate 💜 and everyone who was raising £££ for our work with Harrogate Easier Living Project and Harrogate & District Community Action 🙏✨

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week 💜

This year’s theme reminds us that even small actions can make a big difference.

We know that well-being is about much more than physical health. For many older people, companionship, a kind conversation, and feeling truly listened to can have a positive impact on their mental health and quality of life.

It’s also a reminder to look after the mental health of our team. Our care professionals give so much of themselves every day, which is why we provide ongoing support and well-being resources whenever they need guidance, reassurance, or someone to turn to.

We’re also proud to be taking part in Wear It Green Day to show our support for good mental health.

Whether it’s checking in with a client, supporting a colleague, calling a loved one, or taking a moment for yourself, every positive action matters.

Because caring for others starts with caring for each other.

A lovely afternoon out for a husband and wife we support! 💙

One of our hourly care professionals took our clients on a trip to Next to choose some new clothes, a nice change of scenery and something a bit different for them!

They both said it was lovely and couldn’t remember the last time they’d treated themselves to something new, which made it all the more special.

Supporting people to get out, stay independent and enjoy the little things is a big part of what we do. 🏡
