A lovely day out for one of our companionship clients! 💙

As part of her regular companionship visits, she enjoys getting out and about to local places for lunch. This week, she chose a trip to F. Tate & Sons - Larkhill Nurseries - Ripon Garden Centre

On the way out, she spotted a collection of vintage vehicles and really enjoyed taking a closer look at some of the classic cars. 🚗

Our companionship visits are all about helping clients continue enjoying the places, activities and moments that matter to them.

As part of World Alzheimer’s Month, we’re sharing three simple principles that can help make communication with someone living with dementia feel calmer and more reassuring. 💙

At Carefound Home Care, our approach to dementia care incorporates principles from the SPECAL method, which focuses on understanding dementia from the perspective of the person living with the condition.

The three golden rules are:

💙 Don’t ask direct questions
💙 Listen to the expert
💙 Don’t contradict

They may sound simple, but changing the way we communicate can help reduce unnecessary stress and support someone to feel more comfortable and understood.

September is World Alzheimer’s Month, an opportunity to raise awareness of dementia and encourage conversations around diagnosis and support. 🧠

Dementia can affect people in different ways, but some early changes may include problems with memory, communication, familiar everyday tasks or changes in mood and behaviour.

Experiencing one of these changes does not necessarily mean someone has dementia. However, if changes are persistent or beginning to affect everyday life, speaking to a GP can be an important first step.

At Carefound Home Care, we support people living with dementia to remain safe, comfortable and independent in the familiarity of their own homes.

We’re delighted to share that Helen has progressed to Senior Care Professional in our branch. 💙

Helen has been an important part of the Carefound Home Care team since 2018, and this progression recognises her continued dedication, compassion and commitment to the people she supports.

As part of her new role, Helen will be taking on more responsibility and providing additional support to our care professionals and care management team.

Congratulations to Lucy in our branch on progressing to Care Manager! 💙

Lucy joined Carefound Home Care as a Care Professional in 2025 and quickly progressed through our Senior Care Professional training programme before moving into a Senior Care Professional role. She has now taken the next step in her career and is also working towards her Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care.

Lucy’s journey is a brilliant example of the career progression opportunities available at Carefound Home Care. We’re proud to support our team to develop their skills, gain qualifications and build long-term careers in care.

A fantastic achievement and a real testament to Lucy’s hard work, dedication and compassion.
