Ripon Hospital refurbishment – what you need to know!

Our hospital improvements begin Monday 5th October and will take approximately four weeks.

During this time:
• Our Ripon Surgery stays open for vet & nurse consultations
• Some minor procedures, blood tests & ultrasounds will continue at Ripon
• Hospital & inpatient care will temporarily move to Thirsk
• Planned operations will take place at our Thirsk, Northallerton or Pateley Bridge surgeries
• Out-of-hours care will be based at Thirsk

If your pet has an appointment or procedure during the refurbishment, we’ll let you know where you need to go - and this will also be included in your appointment reminders.

📚🐾 Learning never stops!

Our lovely nurses Rachel, Rosie, Sam and Ellie recently attended the Swift Referrals Veterinary Conference at Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

As registered veterinary nurses, they are required to complete a minimum of 15 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) per calendar year. This helps our team keep their knowledge and skills up to date so we can continue to provide the best possible care for our patients. ❤️

The team enjoyed a fantastic day of learning, covering topics including diagnostic imaging, blood transfusions and biochemistry, alongside many other areas.

We’re always proud to see our team expanding their knowledge and bringing new skills back to the practice! 🩺🐾

Did you know that International Rabbit Day was first celebrated in the UK in 1998? Established by The Rabbit Charity, the day aims to raise awareness and help educate owners on providing the best possible care for our wonderful domestic rabbits.

From their diet and dental health to enrichment and companionship, there’s lots we can do to help our bunny patients live happy, healthy lives!
