I have planed my Beltane celebration, including which herbs I will use and which colours of ribbons I will add to my tree.
I knew I wanted to light a fire! that was non negotiable so we have decided to head to the lake for the night on Friday where I will do my ritual and celebration. Next to the water connecting the elements of Fire and Water.
The herbs I have chosen are
Rosemary: Traditionally used for remembrance and clarity. Throwing your own homegrown rosemary into the fire is a great way to “burn off” the old version of yourself to make room for the summer’s growth.
Lavender: This adds a peaceful, purifying element. In many traditions, lavender in a Beltane fire is meant to bring “calm passion” ensuring that the intense energy of the season stays harmonious and doesn’t become overwhelming.
If you do happen to have a Hawthorn tree growing in your garden, honour the fae that live there and offer some of your moon water to them the day after 🧚
You could use any coloured ribbon, here are the colours I will be using
Red: Passion, strength, and the Beltane fire.
Green: Prosperity, fertility, and new growth.
White: Peace, harmony, and protection.
Blue: Healing, wisdom, and forgiveness.
Yellow: Happiness, creativity, and the sun.
Pink: Friendship, beauty, and emotional love.
Purple: Spirituality, foresight, and divination.
You could also make a simmer pot or simply light a candle and speak into the flame your intentions for the summer months.
Happy Beltane 🌸✨🧚🌕
