✨ SCHOOLS ✨

At Greener Options, we’re proud to support the education sector, from nurseries and primary schools right through to colleges and universities.

We understand that educational environments require professionalism, safeguarding, and minimal disruption, which is why all of our drivers are DBS checked, fully trained, and committed to being courteous and respectful while on site.

Our aim is always to carry out collections efficiently while causing as little disruption to the school day as possible.

As proud members of the Sterling Education group and recent winners of a Sterling Award for Excellence in Sustainability, we are passionate about helping educational settings remain clean, compliant, and environmentally responsible.

We work in partnership with schools and educational providers to ensure washrooms remain hygienic and compliant, supporting all users, including when circumstances are outside of the usual day-to-day requirements.

Alongside sanitary and washroom services, we also provide solutions for confidential and clinical waste, as well as sustainable janitorial products to help sites maintain the highest standards across their facilities.

If your educational setting is looking for a reliable, professional, and sustainability-focused partner, Greener Options is here to help.

Yellow pedal bins are not just a one trick pony, making them ideal for things like medical waste or nappies where cleanliness really matters.

The foot pedal means no touching the lid, helping reduce the spread of germs and keeping environments safer and more sanitary.

Simple, effective, and doing more behind the scenes than you might think.

DEAR MEN 🩵 It’s easy to overlook the small details but sometimes they make the biggest difference.

Most people think urinal mats are just there for hygiene and scent and yes, ours smell great and are designed to significantly reduce splashback (which keeps your washrooms cleaner for longer).

But the reason we chose PVA urinal mats goes far beyond that.

The particular mats we have chosen are part of a powerful initiative in partnership with the NHS, designed to get men thinking about their health in a place where they’re most likely to pause and notice.

Printed with the simple message:
“Blood in your p*e? See your GP.”

It’s a small prompt that could genuinely save a life.
Early detection of serious conditions can make all the difference, and raising awareness in everyday moments is a smart, impactful way to do it.

So yeah, they smell good, they work well but more importantly, they stand for something bigger. Something that we already campaign for.

Cleaner facilities. Smarter solutions. And a quiet reminder that health matters.

We’re proud to share that our Office Manager, Deena, recently dropped off a donation of medical supplies that will be sent to support the incredible work of Nowzad.

Nowzad provides vital animal welfare support in Afghanistan and Ukraine areas where access to medical supplies can often be limited or unavailable.

Over the years, Deena has played a huge role in helping Greener Options support a range of charities, and this is another great example of what can be achieved when people work together.

We’re especially grateful to our customers who donate unused or unwanted medical supplies. These contributions make a real difference, helping essential items reach those who need them most.

If you’d like to support Nowzad or learn more about the amazing work they do, give them a follow on social media or visit: www.nowzad.com

Nowzad

We started from one small act of kindness by a Royal Marine in a remote desert outpost in Helmand Province and now with the amazing donations of our Nowzad family of supporters we are making a difference for animal welfare in Afghanistan, as well as reuniting serving soldiers and ex-pats in Afghanis...

Here’s something you should be aware of, if you own or run a business:

Sanitary waste is classed as offensive waste meaning it is non-infectious and not harmful, but may be unpleasant due to the presence of bodily fluids. (Both human or animal)

At home, or where only very small amounts are produced, this type of waste can usually be disposed of in general waste.

However, for businesses, there is a legal duty of care to ensure waste is correctly classified, handled, and disposed of by a registered waste carrier.

As part of this, different waste streams should be appropriately segregated to ensure they are managed, transported, and disposed of safely and in line with regulations.

While offensive waste doesn’t pose a direct risk to health, its nature means it must still be handled with care and managed correctly.

Ever driven down Walton Lane or Crown Lane in Hartlebury and wondered about their story?

These quiet roads actually trace back to Hartlebury’s deep roots, recorded as far back as the Domesday Book.

Here are a few interesting points:
• Hartlebury Trading estate was previously an RAF base.
• The sand in this area is said to have formed around 10,000 years ago, at the end of the last Ice Age, when strong winds spread it across the Stour Valley.
• The village grew as a collection of small hamlets
• Hartlebury Castle served as the residence of the Bishops of Worcester for over 1,000 years
• The arrival of the railway at Hartlebury railway station in the 19th century helped connect the rural area to wider trade and travel

Long before modern traffic, these roads were simple farm tracks, linking fields, cottages, and small hamlets across the countryside.

Walton Lane reflects that classic rural past, serving farmland and local families, while Crown Lane shows how things have evolved, now connecting into today’s industrial and business space.

It’s a reminder that even the most ordinary roads can carry centuries of history beneath them and many families who walked these paths have witnessed those changes unfold over time and passed their knowledge of the area through generations.

“Can I order a small sharps bin please?”

Sounds simple but here’s the problem..

‘Small’ means something completely different depending on who you ask.

To one person, small = 0.5L
To another, small = 7L

The same way one person’s idea of a “big bin” might be 30L, while someone else is thinking of a 1100L external wheelie bin.

When ordering sharps bins, using subjective terms like “small” or “large” can easily lead to confusion and the wrong stock turning up.

Don’t worry though! The fix is simple, quote the size in litres.

If you’re unsure, check the bin:
• Most sizes are printed on the label (usually top right)
• Larger bins (24L+) may have the size embossed into the plastic above the label (in the same colour as the bin so can be hard to see)

A quick check saves time, avoids mix-ups, and makes sure you get exactly what you need.

Because when it comes to bins… “small” really could mean anything!
