I’ve put together a beginner’s Tai Chi book for anyone who wants a simple way to understand the basics and begin practising at home.

It covers posture, balance, standing practice, basic stances, and the first movements of Chen-style Tai Chi in a clear and simple way.

I wrote it especially for beginners, and for people who want something gentle, practical, and easy to follow alongside classes or personal practice.

If you’ve ever wanted to understand Tai Chi beyond just copying the movements, this book is a nice place to start.

Just a quick update — I’ve had to cancel my Sunday Billingham class, but I’m now looking at running an outdoor class instead.

If anyone’s interested, or knows a nice quiet spot, just drop a comment or message me.

My Tai Chi beginner’s ebook is now available.

I created this as a simple guide for anyone who wants to improve balance, coordination, relaxation, and confidence through gentle Tai Chi practice.

It is ideal for complete beginners and for students who want something clear to practise at home.

A small favour from a local author

Thank you to everyone who has bought one of my books from me in class or through Amazon.

If you’ve read one and found it helpful, an honest Amazon review would mean a lot. Reviews help independent books reach new readers, especially when you’re a small author trying to build slowly and honestly.

Even a few words is enough. Thank you for supporting my work.

Would anyone be interested in a beginner-friendly meditation seminar in Hartlepool?

I’m thinking of putting together a one-off, in-person meditation session for people who would like to learn how to slow down, relax, and begin practising meditation in a simple, approachable way.

The session would be around 40 minutes and would include gentle guidance on breathing, stillness, and calming the mind.

No experience would be needed, and it would be suitable for complete beginners.

I’m just seeing if there would be interest before confirming a date and venue.

The cost would likely be around £8 per person.

Would this be something you’d be interested in?

I’ve been working on my beginner Tai Chi book, and I thought I’d share a small preview from one of the movements: Lift and Press.

This is one of the simple exercises I use to help people slow down, connect movement with breath, and release tension from the body.

The aim of the book is to make Tai Chi feel clear, calm, and accessible for beginners — no pressure, no rushing, just gentle movement and awareness.

I’m really enjoying bringing this together and I’d love to know what people think of the style so far.
