🌸 HAYFEVER vs LASHES: THE TRUTH
With hayfever season officially kicking off, I've noticed a few clients experience extra sensitivity. Did you know your lash extensions actually act like tiny 'pollen traps'?
If your eyes feel itchy, watery, or 'crusty', it's likely allergens hiding in your lashes. If you aren't deep-cleansing daily, those allergens sit right against your lash line, causing that irritation.
Heres a breakdown of what's actually happening to your eyes right now:
The Magnet Effect: Your extensions
catch allergens like a net. If you don't wash them properly, that pollen sits on your lash line all day (and night).
The Salt Attack: Watery eyes = Salt. Salt breaks down my high-end adhesive faster than anything else.
Mechanical Damage: Every time you 'just give them a quick rub,' you are risking damage to your natural lash follicles.
SURVIVAL GUIDE 👇
1.THE DOUBLE CLEANSE: Wash your lashes twice a day with a lash-safe cleanser. This is the only way to physically remove the pollen "trapped" in your extensions.
2. BLOT, DON'T RUB: If your eyes are watery, use a lint-free tissue to gently blot the moisture. Rubbing causes "mechanical shedding" and can damage your natural lash follicles!
3. COLD COMPRESS: If the itch is driving you mad, use a clean, cold compress above your lashes on the eyelid. It calms the inflammation without disturbing the bond.
