MENOPAUSE HAIR LOSS: DO ANY OF THESE LOOK FAMILIAR? 👀

✨ Widening parting
✨ Increased scalp visibility
✨ Thinner ponytail
✨ Thinning around the temples or crown
✨ Sudden increase in shedding
✨ Reduction in overall hair density
✨ Gradual thinning over several years
✨ Hair shedding from all over the scalp
✨ Excessive hair collecting in the shower or brush
✨ Hair that doesn’t seem to grow as long as it used to
✨ Finding hair on your clothes, in the car or around the home
✨ Individual hair strands becoming finer

If you’re experiencing some of these changes during perimenopause or menopause, the important question is…

WHY is it happening?

Because before we treat hair loss, we need to understand what we are actually treating.

🔎 Could it be Telogen Effluvium (TE)?

Has your hair cycle been disrupted by:
• Illness
• Stress or high cortisol
• Nutritional deficiencies
• Rapid weight loss
• Medication
• Significant lifestyle or hormonal changes

TE commonly causes increased shedding across the scalp, often with hairs that are still a normal thickness.

🔎 Or could it be Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL)?

Are you genetically predisposed to the effects of DHT?

Are hormonal changes during menopause making that genetic tendency more noticeable?

Are your follicles gradually miniaturising, causing individual hairs to become finer, shorter and less dense over time?

The signs can sometimes look similar — but the approach to treatment may be very different.

This is why your first step shouldn’t be buying another hair-loss product.

Your first step should be finding out what you’re treating and WHY it’s happening.

A thorough trichology consultation looks at your hair, scalp, health, nutrition, lifestyle, medication, hormones and genetics to help build a clearer picture of what your body — and your hair — may be telling you.

STOP GUESSING. START WITH CLARITY. 🔬
