Reintroducing myself, because some of you are new and some of you have just been quietly watching from the back, and either way, hello đŸ‘‹đŸ»
I’m Claudia.

Naturopathic nutritionist, first time mother, and someone who came into herself fully the moment she became a mum.

I specialise in women’s hormonal health PCOS, PMS, pregnancy and postpartum recovery. I work with women supporting them through their most depleting seasons. You get a nutritionist, cheeerleader and big sis all in one!

Outside the clinic I am nine months postpartum, bedsharing, babywearing, making meatstock, soaking my lentils and very much in a new era of lacto fermentation.

My son Cass came earthside at 42 weeks and 2 days and I stood my ground for every bit of it. Low intervention, physiological, on my terms.

I question the over-medicalisation of birth and women’s health. Not because I am anti medicine but because I believe women deserve a system that asks why, not just what next. I believe maternal health is the foundation of healthy families and societies. And I will keep saying so.

This page is where the science meets the ancestral.

Where postpartum recovery gets the attention it deserves.

Where you are allowed to trust your body again.

If any of that resonates you are in the right place.

Drop a 🍓 below if you’re new, or tell me what brought you here. I’d love to know.

Every culture that ever prioritised the health of its mothers knew something we’ve largely forgotten.

Meat stock. Slow-cooked red meat. Liver. Runny eggs. Chicken soup. Cacao. Hydrating fruits.

These aren’t trends. They’re the original postpartum medicine cabinet and the science now tells us exactly why they work.

A woman moves through so many depleting seasons in her lifetime. Menstruation. Pregnancy. Birth. The fourth trimester. Breastfeeding. Perimenopause. Chronic stress. Grief. Years of broken sleep.

Each one draws from the same reserves. And most women are never told how to replenish them.

This is the work I care about most. Helping women understand what their bodies are asking for and why the answer is usually simpler and older than we think.

Save this if you want to come back to the full breakdown. â€ïžđŸ’«

“1 in 5 women suffer from PPD, but what about the other 4” was a line that struck me in a recent podcast I was listening to.

I’ve learnt this through my naturopathic studies, that a blood mark with in a ‘non-sick’ range doesn’t necessarily represent a healthy individual. The principle is the same in post partum mental health.

Baby arrives, your body goes through the greatest physical experience any human could ever experience. You spend months depleted while your body sacrifices your nutrient stores for the sake of your babies survival. You’re lacking sleep, your life has changed in the blink of an eye, you and your partner are now roommates taking care of a tiny dictator.

And yet, because you do not score within a certain range, because you’re not THAT mentally sick, then you must be fine!

But you are just that, just fine. Just surviving, just getting by. Not falling apart, not in crisis, but not thriving either.

Care is built around these markers, these labels and groups. I wont speak ill of the help available if you’re the 1 in 5. But the other 4 need support too.

Enter me, your naturopathic big sister. As a nutritionist I could just give you a food plan and be done, but do I hell. I educate you, I help you plan and prepare. We talk nutrient requirements, blood tests and markers, supplements, nervous system and oxytocin support, meal prepping, building the village, repletion and recovery.

You can book a discovery call via my link in bio, or if you’d like to talk to a human being drop me DM.

I want to be the practitioner who champions research and progress in women’s health. But I’m a bit meh on this one.

The OdĂłn Device is a new assisted delivery tool - invented by an Argentinian car mechanic after watching a YouTube video of a cork being removed from a wine bottle. I do not say that to dismiss the ingenuity. I say it because something about it stays with me. One of the most primal experiences a woman can have, reduced conceptually to a cork popping.

But my issue isn’t really with the device.
It is with the system it represents.

I am not anti intervention. When birth becomes a genuine emergency, intervention saves lives and I am grateful it exists. What I question is the system that puts so many women in that position in the first place. The cascade of inductions, epidurals, coached pushing, prolonged labour that leads to the point where assistance becomes necessary. We keep building more sophisticated tools to manage the consequences of a system that stopped trusting women’s bodies a long time ago.

The answer is not more intervention at the end. It is better support, education and autonomy at the beginning.

And I don’t think maternity care is the only area this applies!

Save this if it made you think.

Nobody is talking about these. And they should be.

We have whole corners of the wellness internet dedicated to magnesium, vitamin D, omega 3. All worthy. All important. But hormone health is rarely one deficiency deep and the women I work with who are doing everything right and still not shifting often have these three in common.

Copper, choline and NAC work quietly and powerfully underneath the hormones we talk about most.

They shape how ostrogen is made and cleared, how your liver functions, how your cells handle oxidative stress. Get them right and everything else works better.

Swipe through. Save this. And if you are navigating PCOS, postpartum recovery or hormonal imbalance and want to know what your body is actually missing my details are in the bio.
