🌟 MEET THE TEAM MONDAY 🌟

This week we’re introducing Deb, one of our fantastic Support Workers here at Wearside Care! 👋

Deb loves seeing the people we support having the best time, enjoying themselves and seeing those big smiles on their faces. 😊 She also loves being part of such a fantastic team, knowing that together they can make a real difference to people’s lives. 💙

💪 Fun fact: Deb is a fitness instructor and was the first person to introduce Boogie Bounce trampoline classes to the North East, 10 years ago!

Outside of work, Deb enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, going to the gym, walking and being out in nature. She also has a huge love for animals! 🐾🌿

Thank you for everything you do, Deb. Your energy, positivity and passion for helping others make such a difference, and we’re so proud to have you as part of the Wearside Care family! 💙

𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗗 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼 is BACK… and this time we’re turning the clock back to the 1970s! 🕺🪩✨

Get ready for another unforgettable night of music, dancing & fun as we transform The Alexandra into a proper 70s disco! 🎶💃

Fancy dress is completely optional, but why not dig out your best 70s outfit and join us for a night of flares, funky moves, disco fever and good vibes! 🕺✨ There’ll be prizes for our best dressed too! 🏆

🌟 MEET THE TEAM MONDAY 🌟

This week we’re introducing Mark, one of our compassionate and experienced Support Workers here at Wearside Care! 👋

Mark really values building strong, trusting relationships with the people he supports and getting to know them as individuals. Seeing someone make progress, even with the smallest things and knowing he’s played a part in helping them is what makes the job so rewarding. 💙

He also loves that every day is different. While the role can be challenging at times, Mark sees those challenges as opportunities to learn, develop his skills and become an even better Support Worker. 💪

📺 Fun fact: Mark hasn’t missed an episode of EastEnders for 18 years! Now THAT is commitment! 😂

Outside of work, Mark enjoys days out with his kids, camping at the weekends and, of course, supporting Sunderland AFC. ⚽🔴⚪

🎉 WE’VE GOT SOME AMAZING NEWS! 🎉

We’re absolutely delighted to share that WILD Club CIC has been awarded £19,060 from the National Lottery Community Fund! ❤️

As you know, WILD Club is non profit and has been completely self funded over the last two years, so this is a massive achievement and will make a real difference to what we’re able to offer our incredible members who attend our sessions going forward! 🙂

The funding will help us continue providing fun, inclusive and engaging activities, while giving the people we support even more opportunities to try new things, build confidence, make friends and enjoy themselves. 🙌

A huge thank you to the National Lottery Community Fund for believing in what we’re doing and supporting WILD Club. ❤️

💙 MEET THE TEAM MONDAY 💙

This week I’m introducing myself 🙏 I’m Jax and I’m the Activity & Digital Lead at Wearside Care! 👋

I love seeing the amazing people we support grow in confidence, achieve their goals and enjoy new experiences - especially through our inclusive activity club, WILD Club CIC. Seeing someone become happier and more fulfilled, knowing I’ve played a small part in that journey is what makes this role so rewarding and I absolutely love it. 💙

I also love the variety of my role… where else can you be a club promoter, game show host, sports coach, DJ and content creator all in the same week?! It’s complete chaos at times, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! 😂🎤🎧

😳 Fun fact: My nickname “Jax” has become so ingrained that when someone calls me by my real name, it genuinely doesn’t feel like they’re talking to me! 😵‍💫😂

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my amazing son, getting a workout done in the gym and tending to my garden. 🪴💪

I’m extremely proud to be part of the Wearside Care family. It’s truly amazing being part of this incredible team that shares the same passion as me. 💙

We are deeply saddened to share the news that, sadly, Craig passed away last Friday, surrounded by his loving family.

We are aware that this news will come as a shock to many of you. If you are struggling or would like some support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to a member of staff.

Our thoughts are with Craig’s family and loved ones at this incredibly sad time.

EDIT: Friends please meet for a service at St Gabriel’s Church on Thursday 27th August at 12.15pm - Interment to follow at Bishopwearmouth Cemetery

By request of the family please wear SAFC shirts or SAFC colours

All welcome afterwards to The Fan’s Museum for light refreshments

This week we’re introducing Nicola, our fantastic Office Manager here at Wearside Care! 👋

Nicola loves meeting new clients and getting to know them, watching their confidence grow and being part of their journey. She also plays a huge role behind the scenes, supporting the team, keeping everything organised and helping things run smoothly. 💙

⚽ Fun fact: Before joining Wearside Care, Nicola worked in a football centre and she’s also a season ticket holder! 🔴⚪️🐈‍⬛

When she’s not keeping everything running smoothly at Wearside Care, you’ll find Nicola camping, paddle-boarding and spending time with her three sons. 🏕️🏄‍♀️
