Wow, what a day!

The Live Longer Better Celebration Day truly inspires and brings together so many amazing people. What a privilege to be part of it!

A few highlights from my day:

🎤 Had the chance to chat with the wonderful Christine Hobson - a Guinness World Record holder! Such an inspiring story.

🤝 Had a great chat with the Mayor of Welwyn Hatfield Michal Siewniak about our local work and the real impact we’re having in the community.

📻 Did a live radio interview with Mix 92.6 FM!

💬 Had a brilliant audience at my Cancer Rehabilitation talk - thank you to everyone who came, listened and asked such thoughtful questions.

And the most special part - two of my fantastic members joined me to share their own stories and what being part of our We CAN project has meant to them. So proud of you both, thank you for your courage in sharing. 💜

Feeling inspired, grateful and energised for what’s next. This is what community is all about.

Today, Medialis Wellbeing CIC had the pleasure of speaking to degree apprenticeship students at the University of Hertfordshire as part of their Leading People in the Sport Industry module.

We shared the story of how Medialis was built from the ground up, from identifying a real community need to setting up a CIC, developing partnerships, managing contractors, working with referring agencies, securing funding, and delivering safe, inclusive programmes across Hertfordshire.

The session explored what leadership looks like in practice, especially when working across health, sport, community wellbeing and social impact.

It was a privilege to speak with students who are already gaining workplace experience and may one day go on to build their own businesses or community organisations.

Thank you to the University of Hertfordshire for inviting us and for creating space for students to learn from real community-sector experience.

💜 National Cancer Survivors Day - 7th June 💜

Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and courage of cancer survivors everywhere.

Finishing treatment is a significant milestone, but recovery doesn’t end there. Many people continue to navigate physical, emotional, and practical challenges as they adjust to life after cancer, rebuild confidence, and find a new normal.

At Medialis Wellbeing, we recognise that wellbeing support remains important beyond treatment. Looking after physical health, emotional wellbeing, and mental resilience can play a vital role in helping people move forward and thrive.

Today, we honour every survivor’s journey and celebrate the determination, hope, and strength that inspire us all.

To every cancer survivor: your story matters, your strength is remarkable, and your wellbeing deserves ongoing care and support.

We’re delighted to share that Medialis Wellbeing Co-Founder, Alicja P***k, will be speaking at the upcoming Macmillan Cancer Support Health & Wellbeing Event hosted by the West Herts Cancer Nursing Team.

Alicja will be discussing the vital role that physical activity can play before, during and after cancer treatment, helping people improve strength, confidence, wellbeing and quality of life.

Research continues to show that appropriate physical activity can help manage treatment-related side effects, reduce fatigue, support mental wellbeing and aid recovery. Yet many people affected by cancer remain unsure where to start. Alicja will be sharing practical advice on how movement can be safely adapted to individual needs and circumstances.

📅 Tuesday 23rd June
⏰ 1:30pm – 4:30pm
📍 Stanborough Centre, Watford

The event will also feature talks and information on nutrition, emotional wellbeing, rehabilitation, physiotherapy and complementary therapies.

If you or someone you know has been affected by cancer, we’d love to see you there.

This year we were proud to once again support the Slimming World Cancer Research UK fundraising campaign. It is a cause we feel strongly about, and we are grateful to be part of an initiative that makes a real difference.

We have now collected all of the purple bags, and we are so thankful to everyone who contributed. Your support truly adds up and helps drive meaningful impact.

Last year this campaign raised an incredible £31,000 from 1,015 bags, and it is inspiring to be part of something so powerful again this year. Thank you for continuing to support such an important cause.
