🩸An insight to behind the scenes... A single drop of blood can reveal so much about your pet's health.

Here is nurse Jenny preparing a blood smear. Often our nurses support our vets during their consultations in order to support the high level of care we provide.

When your pet has a blood test, we may also prepare a blood smear - a thin layer of blood spread onto a glass slide to be examined under the microscope.

This simple technique helps us look closely at your pet's blood cells, enabling us to;
➡️Assess red and white blood cells.
➡️Check platelet numbers.
➡️Detect blood parasites and other abnormalities.
➡️Gather valuable information that complements automated blood test results.

Giusppe, our Water Distiller! 💙
He turns tap water into high-purity distilled water! 💧

💦We use distilled water to sterilise surgical instruments. The water is heated to very high temperatures, creating steam vapour which cleanses the instruments and kills bacteria.
💦We also use distilled water in our dental machine. This is because the formation and collapse of distilled water bubbles near the tooth surface disrupts bacteria and removes tartar safely. 🦷

Making our own distilled water is a sustainable alternative to ordering in multiple plastic containers ♻️

Jim, a handsome border collie, came in with a small wound after sustaining an injury on the farm.
Nurse Katie flushed the wound and placed some stitches to aid the healing process under the supervision of vet Diana. With careful monitoring at home and a co-operative owner, Jim's wound healed very well and he is back to doing what he loves! 🐑
