Position: Lead Data Cabling Engineer
Location: Based in the Midlands with UK travel expected
Hours: 40 hours per week excluding travel
Basic Salary: £24,000 – negotiable subject to experience and qualifications
Other: Overtime available

Role – As SALCS Installations continue to grow year on year and require experienced data cabling engineers to work with our project managers, coordinators, and existing teams to deliver our high standard of copper and fibre installations.
Role responsibilities – The successful applicant will be required to,
• Oversee project installations on site
• Collaborate with the allocated project manager
• Reading and understand construction drawings
• Leading large copper and fibre projects up to and over 5000 outlets
• Successfully managing other engineers on site
• Liaise with site managers and key contacts daily
• An ability to trouble shoot when any problems arise
Person specification – What skills, qualifications or attributes are we looking for in our ideal applicant?
• A strong structured cabling background with project references
•Strong copper installation and termination experience ranging from Cat5e to Cat6a/Cat7
•Familiar with the installation and termination of single mode and multi-mode fibre with a preference to fusion splicing
• Experience in installing containment
• Experience in carrying out site surveys
• Experience in the installation of Wi-Fi hardware
• Familiar with network patching
• Experience with setting up and using Fluke test hardware
• It would be advantageous if the applicant has EPOS experience but not necessary
• An understanding of health and safety practices with either CSCS or ECS (in date)
• SSSTS is advantageous
• IPAF/PASMA is advantageous
• Clean driving licence
• In date passport

Location – SALCS Installations are based in Heanor, Derbyshire – here you will find our head office and warehouse. Ideally, we would require the successful candidate to be in a reasonable travelling distance to our headquarters to enable the collection and return of materials and paperwork.
Many of our installations and rollouts cover the UK and sometimes Europe so extensive travel is required with nights away from home where SALCS will pay for accommodation and a meal allowance.
