It feels great to get out on an adventure in “Van Of Dreams” from time to time…. Today I have been exploring the wonders of Stonehenge and the surrounding countryside. Beautiful chalk heathland with its own foraging splendours to explore.

Chaga 🙌🏼🍄‍🟫☄️ a quick “how to” about Chaga mushroom and how I prepare it and use it. Definitely one of my favourite “go to” mushrooms for immune boosting coffees ☕️🍄‍🟫☕️🍄‍🟫👍

Chaga mushroom! Part one.
Here I look at the legendary Chaga (Inonotus obliquus), in all its mysterious glory. Where it can be found and later in part two, I’ll be talking about how best to prepare it for use.
Chaga has an enormously long history of regard for its traditional role in immune support and anti inflammatory qualities. Occurring in birch forests all over the northern hemisphere in arctic and subarctic environments. One of my absolute favourite mushrooms ever.

Fire from mushrooms 🍄‍🟫🔥 Part 3
Today Wildroots Wood goes full on bushcraft and prepping. I’ll be talking about King “Alfred’s Cake” mushroom, (Daldinia concentrica) and how it can be used for lighting fire! Demonstrating with a medieval “fire steel” and flint, to make fire from a fungus. 😃
I have also created my own audio (Mushroom Dance) using bracket mushrooms for percussion, jaw harp and puffing song. 😆

Check out my latest Wildroots wood video on YouTube! This week it's all about bushcraft. Namely how to make fire from a mushroom 🍄‍🟫🔥 I will be talking about the "King Alfred's Cake" mushroom (Daldinia concentrica), and how to use it. Demonstrating with a Viking fire steel and flint to make fire.

I have also created my very own soundtrack for my videos, using real mushrooms for the percussion, jaw harp and puffing song! A definite homage to the Moomins and the mysterious "Hattifatteners"😆 Hope you like it😄

(Part 3). A little comparison between the Turkey tail mushroom and the false turkey tail. Loving being out in beautiful nature on a particularly fine spring afternoon.
