I’d just like to say to all my students that anyone laughing at these is in for a hard class ( and you’ve roped the rest of the class in) when I’m back, and you can stand at the front of the class and explain why! 😂👍🏻💪🏻

Feral… absolutely feral.

It’s so lovely when you get feedback like this ❤️. Makes it all worth while. Thank you 😊

When I teach a class I don’t just throw random postures and flows in, I have to think about what muscles and joints need warming, stretching & opening before we can start doing postures like fallen triangle or wild thing for these I have to warm up the shoulders (plank/childs,seated stretch) and get in some spinal extension and flexion (cat cow, little backbends added to a salutation, child’s pose to sweeping camel) just for example, I also have to think modifications to the postures and flows. A class can take me 1-2 hours to plan and modify, but I absolutely do LOVE teaching you all. Thank you for choosing me to spend 45 minutes of your time with 😘😘🥰🥰💪🏻💪🏻

Much love Di xx

And we’re off….

Great last week of classes, thanks to you all❤️we welcomed a couple of new yogis to class and will be welcoming 4 more when we’re back 😊. You all did amazing with the transitions we did especially the last flow when we added it all together, absolutely amazing, I love watching you and I love seeing how much you’re progressing 😍
It’s always so nice to get good feedback after class too, especially when you tell me how much you enjoyed it and all the benefits of our practices together that you’re noticing 👍🏻💪🏻

The cracking of joints in classes last week, especially the knees (mine included) but why do we crack?
Gas bubbles pop in the synovial fluid that surrounds our joints or because tendons and ligaments move around the bone, it’s normal but it shouldn’t be painful, if it is painful then please see a medical professional.

Do no harm
Take no s**t

See you on your mats soon 💪🏻

September next week… shut your faces I can’t believe August has nearly been and gone 😳😳.

We’ve had some fab classes with some new & challenging transitions, I have 1 more to throw at you next week 😉😘. I loved the table top-Downdog transitions and wild thing to fallen triangle is 1 of my absolute faves along with Fig 4 DD twisting into Fig 4 hip dip and all the way through to fig 4 side plank.
We did loads for the full rotation of the core in Pilates especially the erector spinae, obliques & latissimus dorsi muscles which often get overlooked (back core muscles) but play a crucial role in posture and protecting the spine. You all did amazing and our new students loved it and you,and can’t wait to come back 🥰👍🏻💪🏻

We had an afternoon of cocktails and tapas yesterday in our fave place, the girls love it as much as we do 🐾🐶💕.

Mags loves joining in on my home practices she’s so funny, she’s on my mat more than me! Had 1 of my favourite deliveries (thanks husband 😘) and treat myself to a salt lamp, I love it

Sad week as 1 of my regulars has moved back to Nottingham and another leaves us next week for Scotland 😢. I’ve loved having you in class & practicing with you ladies, you will be missed by the whole class. We can always meet via Google meet though, I already teach private classes this way, just message me for more info 👍🏻💪🏻

A massive thank you to 1 of my yogis Lisa, who brought me in some ‘magic cream’ for when I have my injections , apparently her young daughter doesn’t need it 😂😂 I’m not even ashamed 😂😂

Last lot of classes next week before we break for our holidays, we do like to take our holidays before and after the kids holidays because I’m old and like the quiet 😂. Pilates might not be on but I’ll let you know individually if it isn’t.

Wishing the people on holiday a fab time
Wishing the people recovering from illness/surgery a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹
And to those who are thinking of an excuse not to come, behave yourself it’s 45 minutes and I do make you laugh 😂😂

See you on your mats 💪🏻

Had my iron infusion last Thursday, they didn’t have any spray to numb my arm, I wasn’t happy but I was very brave 😂😂.
I am starting to feel the benefits of it slowly, I am having a course of B12 injections to work alongside the infusion… more needles.. great 😩😩, they better have the spray 😂.

We’ve had some lovely walks with the girls, I’m so glad the weather is cooler. Mags is a bit feral 😂, really makes us laugh she loves her auntie Mops so much 😍

I’ve managed a longer run this week a bit slower than normal but I know that will improve. I’ve also enjoyed a couple of restorative & deep stretch practices (with my fave yogis 😍😍🐾🐾🐶🐶)

We’ve had some great classes these past couple of weeks, with some challenging transitions, I love watching you have a go at these and pushing yourselves out of your comfort zones, it’s great seeing you conquer postures and holds you’ve been practicing for a while, in both yoga and Pilates classes. I always tell you, you’ll get there all it takes is practice and patience. We’ve had some busy classes and some not so, we’ve seen some new students come and join us and will be welcoming more over the next couple of weeks, I just know you’ll all make them feel so welcome, you always do ❤️.

Saying I’m not flexible enough for yoga/pilates is like saying I’m too dirty to shower!
Flexibility is the outcome it was never the entry fee!
You don’t arrive flexible… nobody does!
You arrive stiff and human, and YOU are exactly who yoga is for…

So come and join us for a practice, yoga, Pilates or both . Just get in touch

Last couple of weeks of classes before our holidays

See you on your mats 💪🏻

Where does the time go?… no post for 2 weeks and 9th August already 😳😳. Kids and teachers will soon be back at school, and we’ll be back on a 2 week break.

We’ve had a trip to York for a meet up with our friends and their girls. When Maggy and Dolly are together it’s bedlam but so lovely to watch the sisters play, the big guns just sit back and watch and enjoy the rest, telling them off if they get a bit out of hand, I get to enjoy a glass of w**e without wondering what Maggy is up to 😂

Still not feeling 100%, but I have my iron infusion Thursday I cannot wait for this, I feel great for months afterwards, energy levels increase, my workouts get faster and stronger and I don’t get out of breath teaching. Bring it on 💪🏻💪🏻( god help you lot though 😂😂) I’m still running and working out at home, aswell as our practices together. I come to realise not every workout has to be a mad 1. Thanks to the husband for a new piece of kit for the reformer ,the block, did some back, chest arm & core work today after my run 😩, I think I’ll feel that tomorrow 💪🏻😭🥵

WOW classes these last couple of weeks, I loved the Downdog fig 4 transition into fig 4 hip dip and turning all the way into your chosen side plank version, brilliant work, as always everyone doing what was best for their bodies and taking modifications when and were needed.
One of the things that yoga teaches us time and time again is that it will prove you wrong!
How many times do I hear I’ll never be able to do that I’m not strong enough I’m not flexible
And how many of you suprised yourselves this week some getting into baby grasshopper, baby crow or crow and even baby flying pigeon for the 1st time, I absolutely love the enthusiasm and determination you turn up with each week, and it goes to show practice and patience prevails, bloody well done to you all, each and every one of you whether it’s yoga or Pilates are a pleasure to teach 🥰🥰

Week 14 of Pilates 😳, I was a bit mean and we did quite a bit of work for the quads, glutes and core (should’ve named it legs bums and tums 😂) everyone working really hard, easing off when needed, I also put the reps up and used a block to really get into the strength of the legs…I did get a few evils but I love it 😍. You all did great and I’m looking forward to next Friday, looking like a busy 1 as we a few returning from holiday .

I’m not looking forward to this heatwave (again) I hate the hotter weather, we’ll be out early with the girls and the air con will be on to keep them cool 😎.

Do no harm

See you on your mats 💪🏻

I really really needed that… stretch and rest especially after yesterday’s reformer class 😩😩. I ache sooo much AB ducts and AD ducts are so sore, my glutes are sore it’s uncomfortable to sit 😂😂 may need to take a cushion out today. We didn’t do that many postures on the reformer, you don’t need to.
Warmed up with squats and breathwork, followed by sun salutations.. these are hard enough as it is followed by W2-Reverse warrior- Triangle- Wide leg forward fold with side slides 😩. Repeating 3-5 times in each side. IT. WAS.BRUTAL. Told my teacher she’s ruined my weekend she said “good that’s what I like to hear” 😂😂 she’s fab!

The reformer is NOT for beginners so always make sure you have some yoga/ Pilates experience under your belt 💪🏻💪🏻

I’m now off to mask the pain with cocktails
🍹

Have a fab Sunday

Much love Di 😘

We had a brilliant time in Hebden Bridge at the weekend, a suprise visit from the Yorkies made it even better. We love the walking here and can’t wait until we can get up in the moors once mags is able to do it.

I haven’t been feeling that good the past couple of weeks, my iron is really low again, I can get out of breath when I’m teaching but I’m fine when I’m running , although I’m a bit slower so I’m waiting for an iron infusion (I LOVE these) usually last 6 months and I feel great, so full of energy. I’ve been put on different medication so have to my bloods done every week for 4 weeks 😩, most of you will know how much I’ll be looking forward to this 😂😂( I still have my magic cream 😂)

We’ve had some busy classes last week and this week, a few new faces in classes yoga and Pilates, it’s always lovely to see how welcome you make them feel and they always comment on it when I speak to them.
Them power lunges this week 😩 horrible 😂but so effective working the legs and hips. We did quite a lot of mobility and flexibility this week (not the same thing) and I always put in strength wether that’s plank work, balance or holding postures for longer, you did fab as always 💪🏻

When I get queries about my classes I always get the same quotes so here a few Myths & Truths

M..You have to be flexible
T.. Flexibility comes with practice

M.. Yoga is only stretching
T.. Yoga & Pilates builds strength, balance, mobility & flexibility

M.. You need at least an hour
T.. As little as 10 minutes can make a difference

M.. you’re bad at yoga/ Pilates if you fall or wobble
T.. progress isn’t about perfection, and falling isn’t failing

Also doing the reps fast will NOT make me count faster 😂😂

Most people always seem to put exercise last on their list of things to do, or find and reason not to do it…
Make sure you include yourself in the list of things you need to take care of this week, and find a reason TO exercise, 1 day you might not be able to…

Thank you for choosing to spend 45 minutes of your day with me ❤️

No Pilates this week 😢
No Wednesday pm class next week, all other classes as normal

I always say, make sure you have something to look forward to each week wether that’s a meet up with friends, a new book or outfit or just an hour on your own.
I’m looking forward to food and drinks at the weekend with some of my fave people and of course the girls 💕💕🐾🐾🐶🐶, I’ve also got a reformer Y class Saturday not so sure I’m looking forward to this though, I know it’s going to be hard 😩😂💪🏻💪🏻

To my students on holiday have a great time
To my students recovery from illness/ surgery, wishing you a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹 and can’t wait to have you back
To my students that are having a rough time at the minute, there’s always light at the end of the tunnel and you WILL be happy again, reach out to friends, family or 1 of us.. you’ve got this. 💪🏻💪🏻🥰

Do no harm
Take no s**t

See you on your mats 💪🏻
