And relax…
That’s us finished for a couple of weeks, so looking forward to this break.

Looking forward to a 8 course taster menu tomorrow night at hearth in town with some
Very special friends to celebrate a 70th birthday, then we’re off… Norfolk bound LOVE it there and it’s where our girls are from, I think mops will either panic we’re getting another or hope we are taking mags back 😂😂(not a chance of either mops soz) 💕🐾🐶

6 runs, hours of Pilates, yoga and walking the girls and the reformer.. BOOM 💥. I can honestly say I’m fitter in my 50’s than I’ve ever been. I don’t usually run whilst we’re away incase of injury but I might sneak a couple in. I will definitely be doing yoga and Pilates everyday, I may even walk into the village if there is a morning class, i may even take my mat to the beach for a couple of early morning practices 🧘🙏🏻

I know it’s harder to keep up with a home practice, but little and often (10-15 mins) is far better than an hour once or twice, I’ll try and post reminders & tips to keep you motivated 💪🏻👍🏻

Classes were so busy this week, thank you to each and everyone 1 of you, old and new, you’re all such a pleasure to teach and I love how much we laugh, at ourselves and each other 😂😂.

Some proper strength went in this week, but you have got a bit time off 😂💪🏻💪🏻I think I may have some swearing messages from team Pilates tomorrow.
How much did you enjoy the abs blast 💥 woohoo 🙌 your faces 😉😂.

I’m straight back into when we’re back 1st class Tuesday 30th in Paull village hall, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday classes as normal, Tuesday Preston morning class back 7th July. I have a new reformer course on the 5th that I’m really looking forward too, I know it’s going to be a intense 6 hours, but I love broadening my knowledge to pass on to you to help you with your fitness goals 💪🏻

Do no harm
Take no s**t

See you on your mats soon 💪🏻

Another road trip at the weekend, destination York, another sheepie meet up, we have the best times with these lot, so much fun, laughter and booze, just what was needed after last weeks trauma 😩
Husband doing ok, he’s just waiting follow up appointments now, thanks to you all for checking on him ❤️

I managed 5 runs last week, which I was pleased with, still doing interval training which passes the runs a lot quicker, loads of yoga and Pilates and the reformer, I love this piece of kit really takes my Pilates and yoga to the next level, NOT suitable for beginners though, you really need practice under your belt before starting on the reformer 💪🏻💪🏻

A very busy week of classes, we welcomed 3 more new yogi/pilates students to classes last week, they’re always surprised at how much we laugh, and they absolutely loved how supportive & encouraging you all are, they’ve all signed up again 🥰. Thanks to each and everyone of you, who welcome them to class you’re amazing 😻

We did some new transitions and a couple of advanced postures last week, keeping with the same theme this week with a few more advancements, these are always OPTIONAL, I always say stay in the posture you’re in or a posture similar if you’re unsure, you know your bodies better than I do, I don’t know what you’re feeling, You Do You!!. I also always ask you to look round the room at the more advanced postures and see how different we all look.
I was going to tell you the optional advancements but I’ll leave it as a surprise 😳😂.

The goal is not to be good at yoga
The goal is to feel good because of yoga 🧘

Week 8 of team Pilates done, you’re doing great, we upped the game a bit last week working the upper body harder, really getting into shoulders, arms and core and our 2 minute ab blast at the end was good fun 😂😂. I’m finishing with that every class this week I love it 💪🏻💪🏻.

Pilates is proof that slow tiny movements can ruin your entire week…. True story 😂😂. I love my insulting messages sometimes Friday evening, sometimes Saturday morning 😂😂💪🏻💪🏻

All classes back this week (🤞) and it’s the last classes before our holidays, so any of you thinking of excuses not to come, think of a reason TO come, you will miss my face and big gob so no excuses 💪🏻💪🏻

Do no harm
Take no s**t

See you on your mats 💪🏻

So sorry I had to cancel class last night, the husband got taken into hospital by ambulance in a lot of pain (the drama) no flashing lights (he was gutted)
He was back home last night, just under 6 hours and the NHS did a fabulous job looking after him ❤️

A 3mm kidney stone was the culprit 😳, so he will get a follow up appointment to get rid of the little bu**er!

He’s resting today so he has the energy to take me and the girls away for the weekend, 😂😂 as we’re traumatised, I’m such a sissy, but even worse when it’s him or my girls.

Thank you for all your messages, you’re all fab❤️

See you next week (unless I’m dead 😵)

Much love Di 😘😘

I know not everyone is into fitness or exercise as much as me, but what does amaze me is the amount of excuses people find to get out of it, whether it’s a class, a bike ride, a walk, a gym session whatever it is , why does exercise always come last? Find something you enjoy. Find an excuse TO exercise Book onto another class Get up a little early and get it done Someone needs a favour, I’m sure they won’t mind waiting, after all YOU’RE doing them the favour It’s a small part of your day You ALWAYS feel better afterwards It’s time for YOU, it’s your time away from the hustle & bustle, to reset & unwind, why would you miss it?
1 day it might be you CAN’T do it!

No excuses 💪🏻💪🏻

A play on the paddock, a walk, a run, a session on the reformer, yoga & a massage on the shakti, that’s how I roll on my days off 😂😂 . Think I’ll have a rest day tomorrow (or not 😩) If I don’t exercise I’m grumpy!
Girls are nice and cool, pool out and aircon on, can chill now until curry and wine with friends later ❤️hope you’re managing to stay cool 😎

Really pleased I’ve managed 5 runs this week, I did all these as interval training runs to improve my pace and V02 max, when working at intervals it boosts your metabolic rate so you carry on burning calories for ages afterwards, known as (Enhanced afterburn, EPOC)

I LOVED the flows we did this week in our yoga practices , we spent quite a bit of time stretching and taking it slow due to the warmer weather, we had the options of some challenging transitions, and some advancements on postures, whether you do these or not you all make me so proud. 💪🏻😍
We welcomed another yogi to our classes last week who absolutely loved it, thank you for making her so welcome 🤗

Yoga isn’t about touching your toes…
It’s about what you learn on the way down ❤️

Pilates.. you worked those abs really hard in our plank roll ups 🥵 side plank raises too 😳 you did amazing, can you believe we’re up to week 8 already and you’re smashing it 💪🏻💪🏻👍🏻fab work 🥰
Pilates is the only workout were doing less hurts more 😂💪🏻

I hope the husband, friends and yogis in London have a fab time cheering on the world champions. I really hope they get the result they want. RRTR 🔴⚪️🔴⚪️ stay cool and stay safe

All classes back to normal next week

Do no harm

I hope you and your pets are managing to stay cool 😎… I hate this weather, I had a run yesterday but not today just a walk very early this morning 😩. Luckily we have air con 👍🏻☺️

We’ve had a lovely weekend, they boys came round for a bbq (I still don’t know what they pack in these cases 😂) a few drinks and a catch up with the little sister. We had friends round Friday, love spending time with our favourite people ❤️ (The youngest wears the horrible kit to wind the husband up so he got squirted with the hose pipe 🤣)

I really enjoyed our practices together last week, we welcomed 3 new students who all booked on again, 1 even came to Pilates and booked on again for that too.
They couldn’t believe how much we laughed in class, as previous classes they’d been to was quite serious 🙄. My classes are NOT competitive, we’re all just practicing, and I often say, I’m a teacher but a student too.

As teachers we follow the 5 Yamas (restraints) and 5 Niyamas (observances) we put these in our teachings and our everyday lives, Everyone who turns up and rolls out their mat is on a different journey, I don’t know what sort of day you’ve had or having, but you’ve shown up to throw a few shapes (whatever they look like) and maybe I cheer you up a bit if you need it🤞(and I never mind staying back for a chat if needed)
The Yama that resonates most with me in a class. Either teaching or participating
1. Ahimsa (non violence)
Compassion, kindness and non harm toward all living things including yourself

I’ve got the shakti mat out, I LOVE this, it’s a an acupressure mat with loads of hard plastic spikes which stimulates the body’s pressure points, boosting blood circulation and releasing endorphins, melting away deep muscle tension.
Key benefits Deep pain relief Stress reduction and relaxation Better sleep Boosted energy
I lay on it for 15-20 mins, it can be uncomfortable at 1st but after 5 mins I really start to relax, ideal for my meditations 👍🏻

A few busy weeks coming up, Wembley this weekend for the husband RRTR 🔴⚪️ I’m out with friends, weekend after we’re in York, then away for our holidays, I’ll remind you all of dates as some will be missing 3 classes 🫣😳

Onto our 6th week of Pilates already, these classes fly by, I’m really enjoying them , thanks to all you for being a pleasure to teach

Behind every great yoga/ Pilates class is an instructor who can’t count… shut your faces! 🤣🤣
No Wednesday PM class this week
All other classes as normal

Wishing my students on a holiday a fab time 🍹
Wishing my students recovery from surgery a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹
And the 1’s who are thinking of excuses to
cancel get your arse to class 🤣💪🏻

See you on your mats 💪🏻

A new piece of kit for the reformer.. The pull up bar.
25 minute session and my body is already telling me it was 23 minutes too much😂. That was hard, mopsy came to check I was
Ok 😂. Worked up a right sweat.
Think team Pilates might have it a bit easy tomorrow.. 😉(joking) I just won’t do anything 🫣😂.
The reformer is NOT for beginners it’s always best to have a good level of practice in yoga and Pilates before trying the postures on the reformer 💪🏻

A lovely couple of nights away..
Home for a really nice relaxing restorative practice, much needed after my “trauma” 😂😂
Think we did about 6-8 postures in 30 minutes, some long holds in forwards folds including child’s pose, some really deep stretches for the hips and legs and a deep massage of the digestive system, which I really felt after the rummage round I had. The hardest posture for me in savasana (resting pose) I struggle to switch off.

Managed to get in 4 runs last week as I knew I wouldn’t be up for running Friday and Saturday.

Some strong postures in classes last week aswell as some challenging transitions, you all did amazing. Still keeping in some balance next week along with strength 💪🏻

We will be welcoming 3 new yogis next week and I know you will welcome and support them because you’re all bloody fab 🥰

Really missed all my Pilates gang last week 😢, but we’re back this week, this week only we will start at 9am as I have a yoga course staring at 10am… always evolving my learning practice and teachings to keep you on your toes 😂😂.

See you on your mats 💪🏻

I went. I saw. (I saw nothing I had my eyes closed) I conquered… again
Colonoscopy No2….
I am THE biggest windbag EVER!
I tell all my students what i’m having done, why? Not for sympathy but..

1. They lift me up and make me feel better
2. I want people to know colonoscopies are not as bad as they sound, I felt nothing in my 1st colonoscopy mainly because my large intestine was swollen so they couldn’t check it without doing damage, I needed steroids for a few months before they could investigate further ( I was already diagnosed with ulcerative colitis). This 1 was not painful but uncomfortable, I have a fantastic consultant Dr Messiah (I call him the Messiah he loves it) who topped my gin up (sedative) when he thought I was uncomfortable (I wasn’t I just liked the drugs as I couldn’t have wine 😂) and luckily(or not depends how you look at it) nothing sinister (his words)

PLEASE….
If you have blood in your poo or any unusual bowel movements seek help. It could be something as simple as polyps.
Don’t be like me and be embarrassed, the endoscopy team see more arses in a day than you see on a Benidorm beach 😂

1-3 worst thing of a colonoscopy

1. The prep (drink)
2. The cannula (for me anyway)
3. The actual colonoscopy..

I am always here for any of you worried about going for this procedure, and I know my last post helped people hence this nice big long post 😂 thank you to the gorgeous Wendy Sarah Watson for my magic cream 😂(I’m coming for consultation although I think I’m a lost cause 😂😂)

Thank you to my lovely husband for looking after me and taking us away for the weekend to recover ❤️

Thanks for all the messages.. you’re in for it next week 😂💪🏻

I’m now chilling with a very very large wine, cheers 🥂

PS.. it’s not ET’s hand, I’m so old…. But fu***ng fit 💪🏻💪🏻
