This is a kind reminder that registration and abstract submission for
the joint ISAN–EFAS 2026 Congress, taking place in Bologna, Italy from
2–5 September 2026, are now open.

Further information on registration, abstract submission, and the

Please note the following important deadlines (only one month to go!):
- Abstract submission deadline: 14 June 2026
- Early bird registration deadline: 15 June 2026

In addition, we would like to highlight the EFAS Travel Bursary
opportunity: junior EFAS & national ANS Society members can apply for an
EFAS Travel Bursary via email to [email protected] by 15 June 2026.
Eligibility requires confirmation of a submitted abstract. The bursary
provides funding of up to €1000,00.- to cover travel, registration, and
accommodation costs (excluding meals/other expenses). Reimbursement will
be made upon submission of receipts after the congress.

We are also pleased to announce that this year four research awards will
again be available for the best Abstracts submitted by EFAS/national ANS
Society members:
- EFAS alpha-synuclein award sponsored by Mission MSA for research
on alpha-synucleinopathies
- Finapres Prize for research done with Finapres devices*
- CNSystems Prize for research done with CNSystems devices*
- EFAS Audience Award for the best abstract presentation

(*to be eligible for the Finapres/CNSystems Prize, the submitted
Abstract has to include information that the research was done with
Finapres or CNSystems devices).

The EMEAC ExCo is delighted to continue with our interactive teaching initiative – The Digital Hour.

This project, designed by the Video conferencing fusion/hybrid group is aiming to promote National Societies scientific achievements by presenting keynote lectures from current annual meetings, symposia or courses in front of our large audience from Europe, Middle East and Africa.

We encourage all member Societies to participate in the project, giving us a feedback as well as sending video lectures/materials with contemporary accomplishment, presented nationally.

Hope this will keep EMEAC teaching life more active between each European Congress of Clinical Neurophysiology.

The current Digital Hour event is PART ONE - Anatomical and physiological factors influencing variability of the 1st Controversies in Brain Stimulation Expert Workshop: Targeting Variability in Transcranial Stimulation Research; Munich, October 6-8, 2023; kindly presented to us by Prof. Andrea Antal (Department of Neurology University Medical Center Göttingen, Germany) and her team, organising the Workshop and producing the videos. Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to inform you about the 27th Cairo international congress (CNC) of the Egyptian Society of Neurology Psychiatry and Neurosurgery (ESNPN ) in collaboration with the pan Arab of neurology( PAUNS)

The Congress presented two clinical neurophysiology workshops (Neurophysiology of sleep medicine , and Autonomic nervous system workshop) with guest speakers Victoria Fernández Malaga , Spain and Madeleine Grigg-Damberger, New Mexico.

There was also a hybrid clinical neurophysiology session with two international eminent guest speakers Sandor Beniczky, Aarhus University and Devon Rubi Mayo Clinic, Florida.

The ExCo is pleased to inform you that we are announcing a Short-Term Scholarship Program for 2026.

The program offers 15 educational scholarships of up to €2,500 each to support young clinical neurophysiologists (≤45 years) in undertaking short-term training (max. 6 weeks) at host departments within the EMEAC region.

We would be very grateful if you could share this opportunity with your National Society members, particularly trainees and early-career colleagues who may benefit from international educational exposure.

The application deadline is February 15, 2026, and successful applicants will be notified by March 1, 2026.

It is great pleasure and pride to inform you about the 50th anniversary congress of the Hungarian Clinical Neurophysiology Society , held between December 4-6, 2025 at the Mövenpick Budapest Centre Hotel (formerly Novotel Centrum).

This event was not only an excellent opportunity to present the latest achievements and innovations of the profession, but also a celebration. The 50th congress of our society is a significant milestone, which marks our decades of dedicated work for the development of Hungarian clinical neurophysiology and the expansion of diagnostic and therapeutic options.

Over the past years, numerous groundbreaking research, innovations, and clinical applications have enriched our knowledge, and these results have contributed to offering increasingly effective diagnostic and therapeutic options to our patients.
The scientific program was realized with the participation of renowned domestic and international speakers , and our guests will be: Prof. Hatice Tankisi, President of the European Society of Neurophysiology, Prof. Andrea Antal from the University of Göttingen and Dr. Antonin Gechev from the Royal Free London Hospital. It was particularly important for us to create a platform for professional exchange of ideas while respecting traditions, but also seeking answers to the challenges of the future. The main patron of the conference was Prof. Dr. Tamás Freund, Academician, President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. His support was a great recognition for our Society and our profession.

We trust that the congress was not only valuable from a professional perspective, but also served as a venue for inspiring meetings, new collaborations and friendly conversations.

During the Congress the Hungarian Society for Clinical Neurophysiology awarded EMEAC ExCo members with Honorary Membership for their outstanding scientific achievements.
