WHY WE WAIT 6 WEEKS BETWEEN SESSIONS

When we treat you, the laser shatters the ink into tiny particles, but breaking it up is only step one. Your immune system then has to clear those particles out, and that takes your body about 4–6 weeks to do properly.

Come back too soon and you're not speeding anything up. You're treating skin that hasn't finished clearing the last round, which overloads it, slows your actual results down, and raises the risk of complications. Wait the full 6 weeks (we usually recommend 7–8) and you get better fading per session and need fewer sessions overall.

This part isn't something we can rush for you, no matter how much you want the tattoo gone faster, it's biology, not a machine setting. Safety and results come first, every time.

Want to know what that looks like for your specific tattoo? Ask us about your plan.

THINKING ABOUT A NAVAL PIERCING?

It's a classic for a reason, customisable with anything from a delicate gold hoop to a bold dangling crystal, easy to show off or keep to yourself, and a piercing that's entirely about doing something for you.

But it's not one-size-fits-all. Here's why anatomy matters
Not every navel is built the same way, and that actually determines whether a standard navel piercing is a good idea for you. What we're looking for is a defined "hood" or lip of skin at the top of the navel, enough tissue that we can pinch it and pierce through it properly, so the jewellery has something substantial to sit in.

If that lip of skin isn't there and we pierce anyway, the jewellery ends up sitting too close to the surface with barely any tissue holding it in place. That's when problems show up: the piercing is far more likely to reject or migrate, meaning your body slowly pushes the jewellery out over weeks or months, often leaving a small scar behind. It's not a hygiene issue, it's a mechanical one. The anatomy just isn't there to support it long term.

With the right anatomy, it's a different story, a well-placed navel piercing in suitable tissue heals reliably and can last indefinitely with good aftercare.

The only way to know which camp you're in is to have a quick look in person. We'll give you a straight answer, and if your anatomy isn't suited to it, we'll tell you rather than pierce you and let you find out the hard way.

EARS PIERCED JUST IN TIME FOR THE SUMMER HOLIDAYS!

School breaks up for summer next week, which means the next six weeks are the easiest window all year to get your child's ears pierced. No uniform rules to work around, no rushing healing time before term starts, just proper time to let it settle while they're off.

A few things worth knowing before you book: we need a parent or guardian present and your consent on the day, and we'll talk you through aftercare together so you both know exactly what to do once you leave. All piercings are done with medical-grade surgical steel, in a clean, relaxed setting, so theres no reason for anyone to be nervous.

We've also got some offers running over the summer, so if you're thinking about it, get in touch and we'll sort you a time that works.

Why the colour of your tattoo changes everything about removal.

Not all tattoo ink is made equal, and that matters more than most people realise when it comes to laser removal.

Modern inks are a mix of organic pigments and metallic compounds, and it’s the metals that cause most of the complications. Black ink is mostly carbon. It absorbs laser energy brilliantly and breaks down fast. That’s why black tattoos are almost always the easiest to shift.

Coloured inks are a different story. Reds and oranges often contain iron oxide or cadmium, and they respond well to a 532nm wavelength but carry a higher allergy risk. Blues and purples contain cobalt and copper, which need a longer wavelength (755nm) and can be stubborn. Greens and teals are the hardest of all. Chromium oxide and copper compounds tend to reflect laser energy rather than absorb it, meaning more sessions and slower results.

White ink is particularly tricky. Titanium dioxide, its main component, can oxidise instantly when hit by laser light, temporarily turning grey or black before slowly clearing. It’s not a reason to avoid treatment, but it is something to know going in.

This is exactly why a proper assessment matters before any session. What’s in your ink shapes every decision about wavelength, power, and how many treatments you’re likely to need.
