Did you know Joseph Pilates developed his system of exercises to rehabilitate injured soldiers? It’s Men’s Health Week so I thought I’d dive deeper into the benefits of Pilates for Men. Whether you lift, run, or golf, Pilates fills the gaps in traditional training.

PILATES benefits for men include:

Athletic Performance and Lifting
* Enhanced Power: Deep core engagement provides a stable foundation, increasing efficiency in sports (like running or golf) and generating more power during heavy gym lifts.
* Correcting Imbalances: Men often have dominant, tighter muscle groups (like hamstrings and chest). Pilates rebalances these areas by targeting neglected stabilizer muscles, improving form and reducing the risk of tears.

Posture and Pain Relief

I spent the weekend recently diving further into rehab for my latest CPD training. For me, Pilates isn’t just about the movements I already know; it’s about refining the details so I can show up better for you.

The more I learn, the more I realise how incredible the human body is. My goal is to give you the most effective, safe, challenging and enjoyable workout possible.

Nice return back to Men’s Mat class yesterday, easing back in with a seated foot massage and movement in to the ankle joints, followed by some mobilisation into the hip joints and strengthening hip flexors with a loopy band! 🙌
