Did you know that low iron can make ADHD symptoms worse in children?
That’s because iron is important for neurotransmitter production as well as many other functions in the body.
So low iron levels can make focus and attention as well as mood and energy challenges worse.
Signs of low iron can include:✨ Fatigue✨ Poor focus✨ Pale skin✨ Mood changes✨ Restless sleep
Iron-rich foods like lean red meat, beans, lentils, eggs and leafy greens can help, as well as chicken liver pate. Pairing these foods with a source of vitamin C like oranges, peppers or tomatoes can help increase absorption of iron.
If you’re worried about your child’s iron levels I would always recommend speaking to your GP about getting a test before you supplement.
