What does a 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 actually do? 🤝 They're independent of Children's Services and don't make decisions about a family. Instead, they help parents to:

- understand what's expected of them
- prepare for Child in Need and Child Protection meetings
- make sense of reports and assessments
- feel confident speaking up in professional meetings

Our Supreme Court Resource Centre keeps growing. It now covers the judgment itself, official guidance, Parliamentary questions, Court of Protection updates and expert commentary, all updated as new developments land.

It also asks a question worth sitting with. If fewer people meet the threshold for a DoLS authorisation, who continues to check in on their wishes and feelings? Independent scrutiny has often come through that process. Its role may need to be rethought.
