Yesterday a client came in with a huge bruise. She does not know how it happened but it was last week and with blood thinners it is taking time to heal. I asked if I could speed up the process. I found a palpable hardening in the centre that I bled. I then applied a specific moxa technique and type of chinetsukyu cone. Bleeding a small amount of blood moves the blood that has stagnated due to the haematoma. The heat of the moxa invigorated the movement of blood. This helps considerably. I will be teaching the moxa method on my Japanese moxibustion course running at TheCityCollegeofAcupuncture 24th and 25th October. Just a few spaces left.

Watercolour paintings from the holiday in the Isle of Wight. The Needles is the first. The second is a butterfly (the colour palette has no black so it is substituted with a darker). The third is Compton Bay (in the background is Freshwater, we walk there from Needles on one day. On the day of the painting we were fossil hunting). The fourth is a lily from the Botanical Garden in Ventnor. The fifth is a view of Sandown pier from Lake. All in reverse date order.

The clinic will be closed until 1st September for a well deserved break. Time to relax and enjoy some time off. It’s been a very year so and the second half will potentially be extremely busy.

This is an exploration into the bladder channel sinew pathway. The connection into the tongue varies and many of them do not make sense. I discuss my thoughts with quotes and my mixture of diagrams from books and my own illustrations.

4/4 This is a video case study on an umbilical hernia following the Japanese acupuncture style of Iyashi no Michi. I have tried to make this useful for people who do not practice this style. The abdominal diagnosis is fukushin, I try to describe what my findings are with reflections on the treatments. I can see how I can make improvements if I was have another client with an umbilical hernia. This ended up being a 4 part video case study, The first 3 are all 6 treatments. Part 4 is some references I found on umbilical hernias.
