Sometimes depression doesn't look dramatic.
Sometimes it looks like moving through the day feeling disconnected from yourself.
Sleep doesn't feel restorative.
Joy feels distant.
Everything takes more energy than it should.
I recently reflected on a client who came to me during a prolonged period of grief and depression.
We didn't begin by trying to force positivity or "fix" what she was feeling.
Instead, we focused on creating safety in the body.
Through Ayurvedic support, nervous system regulation, nourishment, rest and simple daily practices, her system slowly began to soften.
First, sleep improved.
Then energy returned.
Then moments of lightness began to appear.
Over time, life felt reachable again.
This is something I see often in my work.
When we are grieving, depleted, overwhelmed or carrying emotions for a long time, the body needs support before it can fully heal.
Healing is rarely about pushing harder.
More often, it begins with creating the conditions for the body and nervous system to feel safe enough to recover.
If you've been feeling exhausted, emotionally overwhelmed or disconnected from yourself, know that there is another way.
