Nice little mention from I Love Hertford. We know it's the small things that matter, and a smile makes such a big difference to someone's day.

I’ve noticed something lovely from our sponsors at Manaaki Care at Home.. 😃

Whenever one of their clients celebrates a birthday, their carers seem to turn up with flowers, a card or a little gift 🎂💐

It’s a small gesture, but I bet it really means a lot.

Manaaki provide care and support to people in their own homes here in Hertford, helping people maintain their independence while having a friendly, familiar face there when they need one.

And I love that their care clearly goes a little beyond simply turning up and doing the job.

Remembering somebody’s birthday. Bringing some flowers. Taking a moment to make someone feel special.

Sometimes good care is found in the little things ❤️

Just under 1 MILLION people (982,000) in the UK are estimated to have Dementia, and the numbers are growing. (Source www.alzheimers.org.uk).

Many of our clients live with Dementia, and we have become 'Dementia Friends' to further raise awareness in our team.

ANYONE can become a Dementia Friend (link below). It's a few online videos to make us aware of what Dementia looks like, so we can recognise and support people we meet when out and about.

We have done the training, please join us in helping others.

Took time out to sit and chat with one of our clients about common interests.

Started off talking about stamps (yeah, ok...), but turned out we had alot more interesting things to talk about! Engineering, aeroplanes, history... time just flew by!

This is what makes the job worth doing. Talking to our amazing clients and seeing how pleased they are with our team really cheered me up.

Took our client a bunch of flowers to celebrate her birthday. She was over the moon with this simple gesture. Absolutely made our day seeing the big smile on her face.

Great also to see her Poinsettia from Christmas doing so well.

"Having spent almost five months in Hospital in September 2024, I then moved to a Care Home in Hoddesdon and thence another Care Home in Broxbourne, before I purchased my property in Benstede Court and my son sourced Manaaki Home Care -4 daily visits for my care. Under the circumstances, it is proving an inspired choice ! MANAAKI has an amazing propensity for providing personal care, encompassing punctuality, personal attention to cleanliness, ensuring clients' daily health requirements and conditions, proper meal and dietary needs and prepared to try and accommodate my social wishes ( where possible).
