10 things we have made lately, all with the same intention: simple, nourishing food and drinks made with ingredients I actually recognise.

I love food that feels good to make and even better to eat. Not complicated recipes or restrictive food that leaves you wanting more. Wholesome ingredients, seasonal produce and food that nourishes you from the inside out.

Thereโ€™s something really grounding about eating with our seasons too. Choosing whatโ€™s growing, whatโ€™s available and what feels naturally right for this time of year. I think this is something we can easily forget amongst the noise of nutrition online:

You donโ€™t need to eat perfectly to nourish yourself.

Sometimes itโ€™s as simple as:
๐Ÿฅ• adding more colour
๐Ÿฅš including protein
๐ŸŒพ choosing nourishing carbohydrates
๐Ÿฅฌ eating plenty of plants and fibre
๐Ÿซ making the most of seasonal produce
๐Ÿฐ and still enjoying the things you bake along the way (like 3 ingredient jam tarts)

Today marks what is often referred to as the Lionโ€™s Gate Portal 8/8 a time associated with reflection, intention and new beginnings.

Whether or not you connect with the spiritual side of it, I think there is something beautiful in using a day like today as a reminder to pause and reconnect.

Being by the sea or a body of water naturally invites us to slow down. The rhythm of the waves, the fresh air, the open space and the connection with nature can help us breathe more deeply, quieten the mind and create a sense of calm.

That is the real invitation today. Let go of what you no longer need to carry. Make space for what you want to nurture. awakenwithyoga explains it well over on her stories too.

You donโ€™t need to force a new beginning. Sometimes we simply need to be still enough to hear what we already know.

Over the past year, my lovely client has stayed consistent, built healthier habits and made her wellbeing a priority and it shows. Her goal was not to lose weight but to focus on overall health and daily habits. Beyond this we are looking at supporting the early stages of perimenopause symptoms naturally.

Her latest assessment showed:
๐Ÿค Body fat reduced from 33.9% โ†’ 32.7%
๐Ÿค Visceral fat reduced from 7 โ†’ 6

Itโ€™s social / holiday season, where life feels busy and there is always something to do. While most of you know I am not a summer girl, I am reminding myself to slow down and be present. We have morning sun and evening walks to be grateful for.

To stop.
To breathe.
To look up.

We donโ€™t need to escape our lives to find peace, we can find that within ourselves. Step outside if you can, take a deep breath, look up at the sky or find some green. What makes you happy? How can you romanticise a moment today? Where can you take a full breath? โœจ

Tropic Fest reminded me why I love being part of the Tropic community.

For me, it was all about the movement, whether that was flowing through yoga with the wonderful Jenny or dancing to Diversity and the Soul Band.

The connection that comes from being surrounded by people with a shared passion for helping others and choosing natural products.

And, of course, spending time with such amazing, like minded women made the weekend even more special.

Iโ€™m looking forward to seeing how Tropic continues to evolve, and Iโ€™m excited for whatโ€™s next. ๐ŸŒฟ

For centuries, our ancestors marked Midsummer as a celebration of abundance, gratitude and the height of nature's generosity. Bonfires were lit, flowers gathered, herbs harvested, and communities came together to honour the light, believing that plants picked on the solstice carried their greatest fragrance, flavour and healing power. There is something rather comforting about knowing that long before our busy modern lives, people paused to celebrate a season just as we do today.
