The older I get, the more my idea of health has changed…

I still care enormously about what I eat, how I move, sleep, gut health, hormones, all of it! Because I think if we want longevity we can’t be ignorant to these things.

But I’ve also realised there’s another part of health we don’t talk about enough: actually enjoying your life and being honest about it! 🤍

I want dinners that go on too long, spontaneous plans, brilliant conversations, connection, and plenty of things that serve me no other purpose than making me happy.

Joy. Fulfilment. Laughing. Good relationships. Feeling like yourself. Doing things simply because they make you happy. Not just because they look good!

We can become so focused on doing all the “right” things for our health that we forget what we’re trying to be healthy for. 🤍

I want to feel strong, healthy and full of energy, but I also want a life that feels good to live. 🙌🏻

Here are some things that I’ve been reflecting on recently 🤍✨💫

One of the things I talk about most in clinic is the gut.

Not because I think it’s the answer to everything. But because I think it’s one of the foundations of health that we often overlook. 🤔

We often talk about our gut only when we experience symptoms like bloating, constipation, IBS or digestive discomfort.

But what if it was influencing much more than that?

Research now tells us that the gut and the brain are in constant communication and around 90% of the body’s serotonin is produced in the gut, and the trillions of microbes living within our digestive system are continuously sending messages throughout the body.

Which makes me think…

🤍Could your low mood be influenced by your gut?
🤍Could your brain fog be connected?
🤍Could your stress resilience be affected?
🤍Could your energy levels be telling you something?

I certainly think so!

I also think that understanding how the body works allows us to make more informed choices about our health. 🙌🏻 And that’s exactly why I wanted to write my latest Substack article.

Because when we understand something, we often feel more empowered to make changes.

Have you ever noticed a connection between your gut and your mood? 🤍

One of my favourite Bach Flower Remedies is Walnut 🙌🏻

Dr Bach described Walnut as the remedy for times of transition and change. 💫

This is great for assisting with life’s changes!

Maybe your hormones feel different. Maybe your children are growing up. Maybe you’re moving house.?starting a new job.

Maybe you’re trying to change your eating habits, prioritise your health or simply create a life that feels more aligned with who you are now.

The challenge is that change isn’t always easy.
Even when we want it. ✨ I think we can all relate to that!

Part of us often wants to move forward whilst another part wants to stay exactly where it feels safe and familiar.

This is where Walnut comes in and why I love it.

It’s traditionally used to support people through periods of transition, helping them stay connected to their own path rather than being pulled in every direction by outside influences.

One of the things I love most about Bach Flower Remedies is their simplicity, but power!

Sometimes we don’t need fixing.

Sometimes we just need a little support whilst we’re growing into the next chapter of our lives.

Here are my thoughts on hay-fever season this year, especially as it’s in full swing! 🌸🌼🌻

Whilst I don’t think hydration is a complete cure, I definitely think it might be one of the most overlooked pieces of the puzzle.

When we’re dehydrated, the tissues that line our nose, eyes and airways can become drier and more irritated, which may make hayfever symptoms feel worse.

One thing I’ve been really surprised about this year is the fact that my hayfever has been much better than usual. I’m usually suffering majorly by now, this is the first time in probably about 15 years I haven’t suffered. There could be lots of reasons for that, but one thing that has remained consistent is that I’ve been making a conscious effort to stay hydrated. 💦

If you’re someone who struggles to drink enough water throughout the day, don’t forget that hydration doesn’t only come from your water bottle.

There are loads of fruits and veg, that are naturally rich in water and can contribute towards your overall fluid intake, especially during summer!

Obvs, drinking water is going to win everytime but swipe to see various fruits and veg with high water content. 👉🏼

Also head over to my Substack if you want to read my thoughts on this, why I don’t like antihistamines on the reg and what natural measures I prefer.

Clinic Conversations Episode 3 is now live 🎙️👆🏻 Link in my bio if you wanna have a little listen 🤍✨

This week’s conversation is for anyone who feels overwhelmed, stuck, exhausted, or like they’ve somehow lost touch with themselves. 😩

Something I’ve realised through my own experiences and through working with women in clinic is that stress doesn’t always look like rushing around or having too much to do.

Sometimes it looks like constantly holding everything together.

Sometimes it looks like not saying what you really need.

Sometimes it looks like carrying worries that nobody else can see.

In this episode, I talk about self-trust, starting again, finding small moments of calm, and why you’re allowed to choose a different path, even if you’ve been stuck in the same cycle for years. 🙌🏻

Just a little reminder that you don’t need to have everything figured out.

You just need to take the next step.

I’ve genuinely lost count of how many times I’ve heard:

“I don’t eat bananas because of the sugar, but I do drink Diet Coke and G&T’s at the weekend” 🤔

I think somewhere along the line our messaging has gone seriously wrong and fruit has become the thing we fear!

I hear it all the time!

If you wanna know more, I’ve shared more thoughts on this in this week’s Substack article. Click the link in my bio or stories if you’d like to read the full piece.

This week’s Clinic Conversations episode is probably the most personal one I’ve shared so far 🌿

I talk about how, when I was unwell, I slowly became so focused on everything that was “wrong” with me, that fear completely took over my mindset.

I actually think so many people quietly feel like this.

Episode two is now live, link in bio 🤍✨👆🏻 Hope you enjoy.
