The sun is on its way, and to celebrate we enjoyed one of our fan favourites… Cocktail Afternoon! ☀️🍹
Residents loved ordering their favourite cocktails and mocktails while chatting about everything from go-to drinks to happy memories that involved a drink or two… or three! 😄
We believe in responsible fun here at Carotene, and afternoons like these are always full of laughter, stories, and great company.
Take a look at the fun we had! 📸

OUT, OUT, OUT! ☀️
Our residents have been out and about more than ever as Hexham slowly heats up! From enjoying days out to getting involved in lots of fun activities here at home, there’s never a dull moment.
We’ve been up to all sorts — from balloons to bowls, and even celebrating Hand Hygiene Day by brushing up on our knowledge about the importance of keeping our hands clean! 🧼🙌
It’s been wonderful seeing everyone enjoying themselves, staying active, and making the most of the brighter days ahead. 🌼

Last week we were proud to take part in Parkinson’s Awareness Week, spending time learning, sharing memories, and enjoying activities together with our residents 💙

Throughout the week, residents joined us for a variety of meaningful sessions including a discussion on what Parkinson’s is, a short educational video, and a lovely reminiscence session where we looked back on our very first Parkinson’s charity event.

We also enjoyed a sensory and dexterity craft session in the chapel, helping to keep hands busy and minds active, and finished the week with a wonderful blue-themed tea party with cake, biscuits, and a fun quiz that brought lots of smiles and laughter.

It was a fantastic week of learning, connection, and support — helping us better understand Parkinson’s while empowering and celebrating our residents. 💙

Wow, what an Easter we had! 🐣🌷
Our residents spent the day decorating, enjoying plenty of chocolate 🍫, and sharing a beautiful meal together. We also held an Easter egg hunt throughout the home, which brought lots of smiles and laughter.
Thank you to everyone who participated — together we raised over £100! 🎉 The egg-citing hamper was won by one of our very own residents, who was absolutely delighted to say the least. 🧺🥚
From everyone here at Cartyne Care Home, we hope you all had an egg-stravagant Easter! 💛🐰
