Dr Porter graduated from the University of Manchester in 2010 and initially persued surgical training before moving to GP in 2018. He joined Hopwood Medical Centre as registrar in 2020 working with Dr Osborne. Having completed his training at Hopwood he became a salaried GP in 2021 and GP Partner in April 2026(taking over from Dr Osborne). Dr Porter has a strong interest in medical education and is actively involved in the supervision of Foundation Year doctors and GP Trainees as well as contributing to the local GP Programme.His clinical interests include palliative care, mental health, the care of older adults living with frailty and clinical research

We’re holding an open meeting tomorrow for people who use our services to share their views, ask questions, and hear about upcoming changes at Rochdale & District Mind.

This meeting is one of our monthly listening sessions, where you’ll have the opportunity to give feedback, raise concerns, and ask questions about our services.
