Remembering Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
8 September 2022, Four Years On
Four years have passed, yet for many, it still feels like yesterday.
Today we remember Queen Elizabeth II, a woman whose life was devoted to duty, service and the people she represented.
For over 70 years, she was a constant presence through generations of change, a familiar face during moments of celebration, uncertainty, sadness and joy.
She wasn't simply a Queen. For many people, she was the only monarch they had ever known. From childhood through to adulthood, she was part of the backdrop of our lives.
Whatever your feelings about the monarchy, there was something remarkable about the longevity of her service and the promise she made as a young woman to dedicate her life to others.
Four years on, we remember her words, her quiet sense of duty, her love of the countryside and animals, her famous little wave, and that unmistakable image of the Queen standing with her corgis.
70 years of service.
One extraordinary lifetime.
A legacy that will live on through generations.
Today, we simply pause and remember.
Rest peacefully, Your Majesty
