Not everything that looks like a skin tag is a skin tag. 👀

This lovely patient came in for treatment and happened to show me another little lesion she’d noticed. Under closer examination, it wasn’t what it first appeared to be, which meant it needed a completely different approach.

A good reminder of why assessment always comes before treatment. 🤍

This patient came to see me about one thing, but I spotted something more concerning.

What looked like widespread rough, scaly patches across his scalp were actinic keratoses, caused by long-term UV damage and considered precancerous skin changes.

Six weeks after prescribed topical treatment, the difference is incredible.

A reminder that sometimes the most important part of an appointment is knowing what you’re looking at. 🤍

And yes, daily SPF and a hat are now non-negotiable. ☀️
