UK Veterans Hearing Foundation

UK Veterans Hearing Foundation We believe that we should honour those who have served and still serve our country by offering them the best hearing technology at the best price & service

Since becoming a charity, we have managed to fit over 50 veterans with top-class hearing aids! However, we still have more than 2,500 veterans who need our help in getting back to a normal standard of life after the hearing damage they received in their years of service. Any donations we receive are a huge help in the lives of our vets and we are eternally grateful for whatever you may be able to spare.

A small change can make a big difference and for Mr David Stead, receiving his new Phonak Audéo hearing aids has already made everyday hearing easier. We are proud to share his success story and grateful to Doris Field Charitable Trust for helping make this support possible.

A special thank you to James Hearing for fitting Mr Stead and supporting him through the early stage of his hearing journey. Stories like this remind us why access to the right hearing care matters for veterans.

Mr Michael Norris served in the RAF for 34 years, he has spent thousands of hours around aircraft noise, firing ranges and demanding aviation environments. Now years later, the impact of that noise exposure continued to affect his everyday life, from conversations at home to social settings and car journeys.

With funding from the Veterans’ Foundation and fitting support from Hear at Home Cornwall, UK Veterans Hearing Foundation helped Mr Norris access the hearing support he needed.

Mr Brown served this country with pride and years later, hearing loss began to affect everyday life, from following conversations to enjoying simple moments at home.

However, with support from The Inman Charity and a fitting provided by Vibrant Hearing, Mr Brown is now receiving the hearing care he deserves through the UK Veterans Hearing Foundation. When asked about his experience so far, David simply said:
"Thank you for everything you have done for me."

We are proud to support veterans like Mr Brown on their hearing journey and look forward to continuing to help him get the very best from his hearing care. Read Mr Brown's full story here: https://www.veteranshearing.org.uk/success-stories/david-brown-receives-hearing-support/

Military service can leave a lasting impact long after the uniform is hung up, and for Veteran Jason Newell, hearing loss became one of those challenges. After struggling for years with background noise, missing parts of conversations and feeling like he was missing important information during meetings, Mr Newell received support through the UK Veterans Hearing Foundation and funding from The 29th of May 1961 Charitable Trust.

Following his hearing assessment at Hear4U Hinckley and fitting with new hearing aids, Mr Newell described the difference in one word: "Awesome."

Stories like Mr Newell's remind us why veteran hearing support matters. Better hearing is about more than sound, it's about confidence, connection and staying engaged with the people and moments that matter most.

Hearing loss after service does not only affect hearing, it slowly affects confidence, conversations, work, social life, and everyday moments people around you often don’t notice.

Mr Mark Greenwood served in Afghanistan with the 2 Mercian Regiment and later began struggling with hearing loss and tinnitus linked to military noise exposure. With support from the UK Veterans Hearing Foundation, funding from the Joicey Trust, and fitting support from Vibrant Hearing (NE), Mr Greenwood has now been fitted with new hearing aids that are already helping him reconnect with everyday life again.🦻

He said he was “absolutely over the moon” and even forgets he’s wearing them because of how small and comfortable they are. Sometimes support like this changes more than hearing alone.😀

For years, veteran Mr Stephen Caney struggled with hearing loss and tinnitus caused by military noise exposure during service. Conversations for him became difficult, watching television became frustrating and over time, the isolation and strain started affecting his mental wellbeing too.

With support from the Childwick Trust and fitting support from Homecare Hearing Ltd, UK Veterans Hearing Foundation helped Mr Caney's access hearing care that finally made a difference.

81 years ago, streets across the country filled with relief, tears, embraces, and hope as the nation marked the end of war in Europe. Behind every celebration stood people who gave years of their lives in service. Many returned home carrying stories, memories, and sacrifices that stayed with them forever.

Today, on VE Day, we pause to remember them.🙌

At the UK Veterans Hearing Foundation, our work continues in honour of those who served. Through hearing care and ongoing support, we help veterans reconnect with the moments that matter most, conversations with loved ones, laughter in busy rooms, and the comfort of feeling included again. Their service shaped generations and their sacrifices will never be forgotten.🎖️

Lest We Forget.❤️

Hearing loss does not always happen overnight and for many veterans, it builds over time and slowly starts affecting everyday life. For RAF veteran Mr David Stocker, simple things became difficult, conversations were harder to follow, watching television needed high volume without clarity, and phone calls became frustrating.

With support from the UK Veterans Hearing Foundation, he received the care he needed to hear clearly again and feel more confident in daily life. He was funded by Bill Brown 1989 Charitable Trust and fitted by Waheed Yousef at James Hearing. His success story is what the right hearing support looks like.

Hearing loss does not always happen overnight, for many veterans, it builds quietly over time, shaped by years of service and moments that stay long after.

Mr Archibald Macdonald lived with hearing loss and tinnitus for years, managing daily challenges that affected conversations, confidence, and simple routines.
