The other day my wife said to me:

“You don’t have much urgency about you!”

My only real response—delivered with a sly smile—was:

“Because not everything’s that urgent…” 😏

And honestly? I think my nervous system has finally received the memo.

Not everything is an emergency.
Not everything needs sorting right now.
Some things can just… wait.

And that sabre-toothed tiger definitely isn’t coming to get me.

We can stand down now. 😂

I know where we’re going. 😏
And I want you with me. 🙌🏼

For generations, women have been handed the same story:

That midlife is where we begin to fade.
Our bodies become unreliable.
Our worlds become smaller.
Decline is inevitable — and our job is simply to manage it gracefully.

I ABSOLUTELY REJECT THAT STORY!

I believe we are the first generation of women equipped to collectively refuse the inevitability of decline.

Not because the women before us did anything wrong, but because we have access to knowledge, resources and choices they simply didn’t.

We understand more now about muscle and bone. Nutrition and hormones. Stress and the nervous system. The power of our beliefs… and how we choose to show up for ourselves.

We get to do this differently 🥳

We get to question everything we have been taught about ageing.

To dismantle the beliefs that have eroded our confidence, disconnected us from ourselves, made us question our significance and taught us to fear the future.

To come home to ourselves.

To build our strength.
Fuel our future.
Protect our boundaries, our energy and our peace.

To move through the second half of our lives with unwavering trust and conviction in our bodies, minds and souls.

Unshakeable.

Not because life will never shake us. But because we know how to return to ourselves. Again and again.

This is the deeper work of The Sovereign Body Method — my deeply personal 12-week, 1:1 coaching experience.

Yes, we build muscle, nourish and regulate the body, and create habits that support a longer, stronger life.

But underneath it all, we shift beliefs. Reclaim agency. And gather the evidence, one Act of Sovereignty at a time, that we can trust ourselves to show up.

This is not simply about changing your body.

It is about changing the story of what it means to grow older inside one.

This is where we’re going. 🚀

And if something deep within you recognises this, I don’t want you watching from the sidelines.

I want you here.
I want you with me.

Message me SOVEREIGN and let’s talk about your place inside it.

This week’s Acts of Sovereignty looked a little more celebratory than usual 🥳

Sunsets. Belly laughs with my wife. Theatre with friends. An unreasonable amount of wild swimming. A private sound bath. And, because it was my birthday week, plenty of excellent coffee and cake ☕️🍰

But also: showing up bravely and continuing to move the work I care about forward — even when it stretches me.

A reminder that showing up for yourself can look like joy, connection, rest, courage… and birthday cake. Especially birthday cake. ❤️

Don’t forget to add: sauna, Pilates, 9pm bedtimes and being absolutely delighted when plans get cancelled 😂

Four different women. Four different conversations. All in one morning in clinic.

Different ages, different lives, different stories — but underneath it, so much of the same thing.

“I don’t feel like myself anymore.”
“I’ve lost my confidence.”
“I feel lonely.”
“I’m scared of what getting older means.”
“I’ve made myself smaller.”

And this is exactly why I keep talking about this.

YES — I want women lifting weights, because say it with me again: bones, brains, heart, longevity and functional independence. 😂

But most women aren’t coming to me because they desperately want a PB on their deadlift.

They want to feel strong in themselves again. They want confidence, reassurance and a different way of thinking.
They want to stop being ruled by fear, old beliefs and everyone else’s expectations. They want to come back to themselves.

That’s why this work is about so much more than exercise.

Strength might be the practice. But sovereignty is the outcome 🔱

If any of this feels familiar, tell me — what are you hearing yourself say lately?

We’ve been taught to see ageing as something to fear, fight or blame.

But ageing itself is not the enemy.

The real problem is losing connection to your strength, your agency and the woman you still get to become.

You do not need to hand your health over to “just getting older” or to the beliefs that tell you it’s too late.

With half our lives still ahead of us, there is still so much available to us.

So much strength to build.
So much life to live.
So much future to shape.

Welcome to your stronger half ✨

So tell me, what do you believe about ageing?
And what do you want your second half to look, sound and feel like?

THIS IS 45. 🥳

I spend a lot of time talking to women about changing the narrative around ageing.

About rejecting the idea that our best years are behind us.

Because I genuinely believe the second half of our lives can be the stronger half.

The happier half.
The more peaceful half.
Maybe even the better half.

And at 45, I don’t just want to talk about that.
I want to live it.

Coaching changed my life in ways I could never have predicted.

It taught me that sometimes we have to unbecome so much of what we learned to be, to come home to who we actually are.

To unpick the limiting beliefs.
To stop people pleasing.
To strengthen my boundaries.
To put myself back on my own priority list.
To trust myself.
To create a life that, at one point, I honestly thought belonged to some fictional future version of me.

I’m not saying life is perfect.
And I certainly don’t have it all figured out.

But I train because I want to stay strong.
I nourish my body because I want it to carry me through a big, full life.
I say yes when it’s a true yes — and no when it needs to be no.
I protect my boundaries, my energy and my peace.
I choose joy.
I choose adventure.
And I keep learning how to show up for myself.

Not perfectly.
But deliberately.

These are my own little acts of sovereignty.

And more than anything, I’m grateful to be getting older.
I don’t want to spend these years wishing myself backwards.

I want to meet them fully — stronger, softer, wiser, freer.

And if this is 45…

If I’m only somewhere around the halfway point of this whole wonderful thing…

My god.

How good can it get? ❤️

The older I get, and especially on the eve of my 45th birthday, the more I reject the idea that youth is the pinnacle!!

Getting older is something to celebrate. To embrace. To feel proud of.

The wrinkles, the grey hairs, the laughter lines — they’re not evidence that we’re becoming less. They’re evidence of a life being lived.

And while we don’t get to control every part of ageing, we do get to choose so much about HOW we age.

For me, that means building muscle. Protecting my mobility. Fueling myself well. Prioritising recovery. Regulating my nervous system. Protecting my boundaries and my energy. Staying curious, connected and adventurous.

Not because I’m trying to stay young.

Because I’m building my stronger second half 😉

45 tomorrow. And I have absolutely no interest in pretending my best years are behind me. 😉
