You don't need to keep watering it. You need to let it die.
The job that stopped fitting. The version of yourself everyone else misses more than you do. The body you're still grieving instead of inhabiting.
Autumn doesn't ask permission to let the leaves go — because holding dead things doesn't honour them. It just blocks the space where something alive could grow.
Menopause is nature doing the same. Releasing what was to make room for what's coming. That's not loss. That's intelligence.
