This is why I say to make sure of you want a piece from my cabinet to get it sooner rather than later we are at a point where there is only $100 left until there has been a 100% increase in the price of gold. In January 2025 is was $2600 an ounce in only 1 year that has doubled meaning that every single one of my suppliers has had to put their prices up. I have been doing my best to manage the increase in other ways by reducing my spending and not buying as much stock because the money I make from sales now doesn't buy the same as it did even a year ago. With this being said to ensure I can continue to offer the best jewellery to you all I am going to have to seriously look at whether my current business model is viable to continue to grow my business. It's not just gold that has gone up, all metals have had an increase but I can currently stand to the increase in titanium. I am putting this out there for now so if you came in to ask about a price then please don't think I'm being funny if the price has changed when you come back because this is just unbelievable and I'm really starting to worry about how to afford to continue stocking gold for my wonderful clients at the levels you're used to without increasing the price of what is currently sat in my cabinet to ensure I can replace what I sell. If I sell at the prices I bought at which is the model I have been doing I now have to sell 2 pieces to replace one and still be able to pay all of my other bills at the studio and at home without getting further into debt. The result has been that I am paying my bills but not having enough left to replenish stock and it sucks. So with that being said if there is a piece you have spotted that you love come and get it before the end of next week because after the 5th Feb once panto(the show I'm in this week) is done I will be sitting down with my laptop and working out a new price list to make my business sustainable and able to continue offering new pieces in stock. I haven't come to this decision lightly, it is awful to have to do this but I just don't see any other way of continuing to offer you all the best of the best without the price increase. I will also be looking at the current prices for my piercing services and will be trying to keep them down but I can't make promises. In a world where everything is going up in price exponentially week in week out I have to think about the bigger picture of do I want to still be in business this time next year. And yes of course I do and the only way to do that is to admit that I cannot keep eating the cost increases from my profits. The same profits that mean I can pay my bills, eat and restock my cabinets. I hope you can all understand why I am popping this on here to give you a heads up. Thank you as always for your continued support and choosing to spend your hard earned money with me, sorry I might have to take a little bit more of it moving forwards. I wish it wasn't the case but the world politics and economics mean that it's having an effect of every single commodity and I just can't continue to offer the same quality of service and product for the current prices and be able to pay my bills. When I say to you please message me via text message because technology hates me this is what I mean. I have literally just this second received this notification as a NEW notification. Look at the date it was actually sent. 1st November. Literally 6 weeks it's taken for Facebook to decide that I am allowed to see the message that has been sent by a client to my business. Trying to run a business in 2025 with access to the best technology and this is what I'm dealing with on a frequent basis. It's not that long ago (last year) they sent me 14 messages I hadn't seen from 2019. 5 years it took them to send me my messages from clients who thought I just couldn't be bothered to reply or ghosting them. I promise I'm not and I'm sorry if this has ever happened to you that you messaged me and I never replied. It genuinely isn't my fault most of the time.

On this day in 2014 , Gypsy Blades Piercing as a business was born after months of saving and buying things to start up. Since then I have moved studios twice to where I have called home for the past 8 years, and Gypsy Blades Piercing is officially 11 years old today. Happy Halloween, Samhain blessings to all and a great big happy birthday to my beloved business which has given me the most wonderful opportunities and brought in the most amazing clients. Good morning. I love this time of year, because it's the UKs conference for professional piercers and this year marks 10 years of the industry in the UK being made safer and the jewellery quality available being elevated. I didn't manage to make the first 2 conferences as I didn't know about it but I have been in attendance at the last 7 and now this one. Over the years I have been a volunteer helping the show run smoothly, between me and my good friend Connor we oversee the scholars and newbie volunteers and make sure that the conference can run efficiently and that everyone knows what they need to be doing. I love it. Last year marked the first year I held a class, and it was nerve wracking but wonderful to impart my knowledge to others in my class about Children's ear piercing, so much so that I'm doing it again this year. Excited but still a little nervous. I am so grateful to be part of the piercing community who have come together to do better, to learn more and to collaborate instead of tearing each other down. Beautiful things happen at the top of the game and without a doubt going to conference and meeting the people I have changed the trajectory of my whole career and indeed life.

With that being said there is also the wonderful opportunity to go and buy some of the best jewellery the world has to offer and it's so nice to be able to see them up close and not just a picture on the Internet. Over the years these brands I love so much have helped change the entire stock of my studio to ensure I'm only offering the best of the vest. Those same brands continuously give back to our industry by sponsoring the events and giving opportunities to win career changing prizes and without the support of them this whole shebang wouldn't happen. So a massive thank you to all of the brands who have done this over the years it's incredible how you work with us to help us all thrive.
