To confirm, the power has been restored at the Holywood surgery site and it will re-open along with our Springhill surgery tomorrow, Tuesday 1st September.

As many will be aware, the Holywood surgery is undergoing building work. Unfortunately, the power cable has been damaged, which means there is no power or access to our computer services.

Therefore, we have had to close the site. This means-
🔵 All appointments are being moved to the Springhill surgery
🔵 Any scripts usually picked up by patients at the Holywood site, rather than sending to a pharmacy, will now need to be collected from Springhill.

📢 UPDATE 15:30 27/08/26
NIE are on site, but awaiting their contractor to arrive before they can begin work. It is uncertain if power will be restored for tomorrow, Friday 28th August.

❗️On this basis, we will plan for the Holywood surgery to have to remain closed tomorrow, Friday 28th August. This means:

🔴 Any appointments already booked tomorrow, Friday 28th August for the Holywood surgery, will be moved to the Springhill surgery - our reception team are now contacting those affected.

🔴 Any samples, e.g. urine, sputum etc, will need to be dropped off at the Springhill surgery

🔴 Any prescriptions usually picked by at Holywopd reception by patients, rather than sent directly to a pharmacy, will have to be collected from the Springhill site.

Please monitor this post for updates and accept our apologies for this unexpected incident.

❤️🤱 B R E A S T F E E D I N G W E E K 🤱❤️

This week is world breastfeeding week. Breastfeeding rates in Northern Ireland are steadily increasing. Breastfeeding requires support and for those breastfeeding to feel informed, confident and empowered to breastfeed for as long as they choose.

Breastfeeding provides all the nutrients babies need in the early months while supporting healthy growth and development. For mothers, breastfeeding can support recovery after birth and provide longer-term health benefits.

This World Breastfeeding Week, South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust are hosting a tea party to celebrate and support those breastfeeding:

We would wish to draw your attention to alternative support for fear of flying, as we appreciate that fear of flying is very real and very frightening. A much better approach is to tackle this properly with a Fear of Flying course run by the airlines. These courses are aviation-industry approved and are run by several airlines. The positive effects of the courses continue after the courses have been completed. We have listed a number of these below:

⚒️🦺 P R I O R Y S I T E :
B U I L D I N G W O R K 🦺⚒️

We are pleased to advise that work will be commencing in July 2026 to build an extension to our Holywood Surgery. This extension will provide:
🔷 a brand new Treatment Room
🔷 Increased space for our First Contact Practitioner Physiotherapist and Social Work team.

The building will also undergo significant upgrade works to its building services and ICT infrastructure.

In order to facilitate this work, patients should expect some disruption around the Priory site surgery for up to 12 months. This will include:
🔵 some temporary restrictions on parking and noise from construction activities.
🔵 We may also be required to move some services to our Springhill Site whilst internal works are carried out.

We will work closely with the contractors to try and minimise any impact on patients.
