For more than 50 years, one thing has remained unchanged at LIVES: the incredible dedication of our volunteers.

Day and night, in all weathers, and often at a moment's notice, our volunteers continue to step forward to help complete strangers during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. They bring skill, compassion, reassurance, and hope when it is needed most.

For more than 50 years, LIVES volunteers have made an immeasurable difference to patients and families across Lincolnshire. Behind every response is someone who chose to give their time to help a stranger in need.

As we celebrate Volunteers' Week 2026, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to every member of our volunteer family. Your commitment to your communities, your patients, and our charity never goes unnoticed. You are the reason LIVES can continue delivering life-saving care across Lincolnshire.

As a thank you, every LIVES volunteer will receive a special recognition from us this week. It can never fully reflect the impact you have on patients, families, and communities across Lincolnshire, but we hope it serves as a reminder that your dedication does not go unnoticed. You are valued, appreciated, and at the heart of everything we do.

We’re proud to announce that four more LIVES volunteer Critical Care Responders have been signed off and are now actively responding across Lincolnshire.

Two responders are new to post
Two responders have progressed to an enhanced level of scope

These four responders will now respond directly from their own communities in their own vehicles on blue lights, helping bring advanced pre-hospital care to patients faster when it matters most. This latest sign-off brings our Critical Care Team to 17 dedicated responders supporting communities across Lincolnshire.

Every responder, every call, and every life saved is only possible because of the support of our communities.

Just over three weeks ago, Stuart had a cardiac arrest.

LIVES were first on scene, and today, Stuart is recovering incredibly well. Incredibly Stuart walked unaided to Forever in Bloom with Sarah by his side. 🌸

Sarah and Stuart dedicated a beautiful dahlia to the staff and volunteers at LIVES as a thank you for the care and support they received. We’re incredibly grateful to Sarah for sharing Stuart’s story and for their kind donation.

Sarah recently shared a video reflecting on the experience, gratitude, and Stuart’s recovery journey, including his new nickname, “Iron Man”, after having an internal cardiac defibrillator fitted in his chest.

🌸 On Friday, we were proud to officially launch Forever In Bloom at the Petwood Hotel.

The launch brought together supporters, volunteers, partners and members of the community for a moving afternoon of remembrance and reflection, featuring speeches from our CEO Nikki Cooke, Air Vice Marshal Mark Hunt, Senior Fundraiser Sam Ellingford and Padre Eddie Wynn.

We were also honoured to welcome MP Victoria Atkins, alongside Martin and Elaine, whose daughter Christine is at the heart of Forever In Bloom.

Special floral tributes were dedicated to Christine and to George “Johnny” Johnson, in honour of his extraordinary Dambusters legacy, while the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight delivered three incredible flyovers above the Petwood Hotel.

A huge thank you to the RAF for their incredible support in helping us bring the display to life, to Jakemans for sponsoring the event, and to the Petwood Hotel for hosting us so wonderfully.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a meaningful afternoon.

The 1,000-flower display remains open until 7th June.

Forever In Bloom has officially launched 🌼

Our beautiful installation is now on display at the wonderful Petwood Hotel, bringing together hundreds of handcrafted yellow dahlias dedicated in memory of loved ones.

Each flower represents a story, a life remembered, and helps support the lifesaving work of LIVES across Lincolnshire.
