Who do Therapy Huski
es help? The ‘awesome pawsome’ as we call them have literally touched the hearts of thousands of people living with dementia, bereavement, loneliness, autism, cancer, sensory-impairment, end of life, mental health and so much more. Research into pet therapy continually shows that SPECIALLY TRAINED animals like our dogs can be used therapeutically to benefit all sorts of people suffering from emotional and behavioural disorders. Our dogs visit care homes, private residential complexes, community groups, hospitals, schools, offices and events. We are now Therapy Dogs to a few schools and carry out weekly and monthly visits helping children with many complex needs and issues. Thunder is also the only dog prescribed in a medical care package by the NHS and local CCG as part of ongoing much needed life and physiotherapy sessions for patients
What happens during a visit? Every visit is unique and tailored to your location and needs so we work with you beforehand to get this just right. Our visits are normally between 9am-11am or 1pm-4pm so we can avoid meal times and remove any distractions for our dogs! During a visit, you’ll discover our dogs just love the attention; strokes, cuddles, belly rubs…you name it! They are as gentle and as loving as can be! * our dogs are trained to indicate for several illnesses and conditions the main indication is emotional issues. Whilst at your location, we do take photographs and videos of the visit which we share via our page to show the world the great work these dogs do. Family members of residents have also expressed how wonderful it is to see their loved ones enjoying their time with the dogs. It’s extremely important that you obtain consent from everyone involved with the visit on the day as a booking is treated as consent obtained. Prices start from just £140 for weekly visits. * please note, we charge to profit making organisations, schools, business and private individuals with income, you are paying for Adrian as a very experienced life coach, psychotherapist and counsellor, the dogs are FOC. Part of all earnings goes towards our amazing End Of Life work when teamed with donations, this may also be used to help individuals who just cannot get help from the normal channels NHS, CAMHS, Bereavemnet Services etc and can be used as a stop gap. Best thing to do is contact us and we can sort something out, we'll always try our very best to save costs and help you. Do you carry insurance etc? The Therapy Huskies are trained and carry out specific duties way beyond PAT approved dogs. They carry full Euro Vaccination Passports and their very own £5m Public Liability. Do you have case studies/testimonials? Where do we start - grab a cuppa and be prepared for fluff overload! Adrian - I honestly don’t have the words to describe how you and your heart healers have helped people today. Just in the few minutes that I was in the room I saw a lady who had just left an abusive husband laughing for the first time in a long time, a lady who had just lost a baby laughing and smiling, a lady who has been on a counselling waiting list for three years relax and smile, men who are worried about providing for their families let that go for a while, and then R***…what you did for him today goes beyond any kind of words. I cried when I got back to my office after seeing him with Autumn and Thunder - his speech, his anxiety, his body language - what a difference! I’m sure you hear that every time you visit somewhere but today was a really special day for us all. - Nikki xx
Honestly can't thank Adrian and thunder enough for yesterday. They came to visit us to see my wife, but Thunder laid across my foot and instantly I felt calmer, Adrian explained that's because you’re holding on to too much emotionally and he was wrong. Both Adrian and thunder wasn't wrong, I haven't dealt with everything this year has dealt and to see Thunder lay as if to say " It's okay, I'm here " was beyond emotional and the tears started to fall,
Thunder is affectionate and calming, he is beyond any doubt a real friend, he Sat up and looked straight at me with a look of compassion and care which caused some more tears. He truly is remarkable and knows when you’re struggling. Please keep doing what you guys do and understand that all of you have brought so much joy and happiness to untold amounts of people and that in itself is heartwarming. All I can say is THANK YOU for everything you do and keep up the amazing work God bless you all # # # Ian
We Can’t thank Adrian and Thunder enough for their visit today helping support our little boy with a blood test. Harry is 6 and has chronic kidney disease he needs his bloods doing a few times a year sometimes more and he finds it very traumatic, Thunder came to support him today and even though he did still get a little
Upset once in the room he settled and managed it much better than previous appointments with Thunder helping distract him and now he has his very own Thunder Teddy to take to all His appointments,
however he has asked how many sleeps till he sees Thunder again
we will be reading our Thunder book at bedtime and be sure to tell everyone about the amazing work TherapyHuskies do Thank you again soo much xx Kayleigh
Had a fantastic visit to therapy Huskies in Hornsea. Thunder, Thor, Binny-boo, Autumn and Winter are just the most gorgeous souls you can imagine! Each dog is so soft, caring, and cuddlesome. They tend to select a person as well, which is just great. I made friends with Thunder… he sat and just gazed at me with his fabulous blue eyes! The other huskies made friends with the kids and my wife. It is definitely an experience I would recommend, relaxing and comforting, and feeling a real connection between yourself and the fluffballs! Adrian is very welcoming, knowledgeable and accommodating. We didn’t get to meet Claire, but I am sure we’ll be going back in the not too distant future! Seriously recommend this. 10 out if 10! - Craig
“What can I say about these beautiful dogs, just took my mum who suffers with dementia to meet them all, the absolute joy on her face was a sight to behold, they are the most gentle friendly loving creatures that fetch so much happiness to people in need of a lift, their eyes just melt your heart. Adrian kindly made a short video of my mums reaction and many friends have said it brought a tear to their eye. I would recommend that anyone who feels they know someone who benefit from a visit from the fab four along with their very caring owner to contact them, treasured memories were definitely made for us today Thank you Dementia dogs xX” - Tanya Haigh
Today we were visited by the ever so cute and adorable Thunder (oh and Adrian lol) I'll admit I'm not really a dog person but I don't know what happened! I was sat on the table whilst Adrian explained that Thunder can detect things like stress at which point he decided to lie on my feet! apparently, that's him being there for me, Thanks Thunder I appreciate the support.....it wasn't long before I was on the floor cuddling him and giving him treats! I still don't understand what happened but he had a very calming effect on me (and I'm sure the whole team), I totally trusted him (he's a very big dog) and just wanted to cuddle him all-day but alas had to get back to work!!!! Thanks again Thunder you have got some new fans (and Adrian) - Caroline
