Before you send your practitioner the “HELP 😭” message…

If you’re a few days post-microneedling and your skin suddenly feels dry, tight, rough, bumpy or flaky, you may simply be in the less glamorous part of the recovery process.

Your skin barrier has been temporarily disrupted and your skin is busy repairing itself.

So please don’t respond by attacking it with scrubs, acids and actives because you want your smooth skin back immediately. 🫠

Gentle. Hydrated. Protected. Patient.

Obviously, anything severe, worsening or outside the aftercare expectations you’ve been given should be discussed with your practitioner.

But the slightly crusty little in-between era?

She doesn’t live here forever. ✨

Because unfortunately collagen production doesn’t come with an instant beauty filter. 😭

Microneedling creates controlled micro-injury to trigger your skin’s natural repair response. And while that process gets underway, your skin may temporarily look redder, drier, duller, bumpier or more textured than usual.

Basically, your skin is under construction. 🚧
And construction sites aren’t usually very photogenic.

This is not the time to panic-exfoliate, pick at flakes or throw every active in your bathroom at it. 🫠

Keep things gentle. Keep it hydrated. Wear your SPF. Let your skin do the work.
