Last Sunday some of the instructors here at Elevate got together to share new class planning ideas💡

We spent the afternoon collaborating on new ways to teach the exercises we all know and love, shared our favourite go-to’s and ways of planning our classes.

We think it’s so important as instructors to keep learning from our fellow teachers, to continue providing the best classes for all of our clients 💙

Back with our levels series, this week Plank to Pike… probably a love / hate relationship with this one!

This full-body workout engages the deep core, shoulders, and hips while testing stability and control. It’s no wonder we love them 🔥

Movement can be done on forearms to begin while core and shoulder strength is built, advancing onto hands and even toes on footbar to further test stability and core control.

Side Splits… inner thighs are burning just thinking about them! 😂

We absolutely love to layer and advance Side Splits here. This exercise builds inner thigh strength, while also engaging the core and glutes that work to stabilise the pelvis and torso, an all-rounder!

This exercise can be advanced from knees to standing, once someone’s confidence and strength allows them to stand on the Reformer. To advance, you can go into skating, which also tests balance and coordination 🔥

58km on paper… somehow over 60km in reality 😅

9 hours of running, climbing, descending and surviving the brutal Jurassic Coast hills… and Cheryl made it to the finish line 💪

An absolutely beautiful but seriously tough day. After rolling her ankle at 26km and battling through an old meniscus injury, Cheryl somehow kept going all the way to the end.

And it was all completely worth it to raise money for the local charity 🐾 Thanks to everyone’s amazing support, Cheryl has now raised over £1100 💙

We’re so grateful for the incredible community around both the clinic and studio. Thank you to everyone who donated and cheered her on along the way.

And to top the day off… Cheryl’s husband also came home with a podium finish 🏆👏

Cheryl can’t wait to see everyone back in the clinic and studio this week… although maybe moving a little slower than usual 😅

We’re back with our Levels Series!

On the agenda today… single thigh stretch 💪 This exercise is great for opening up the hips and stretching out those hip flexors.

Perfect for all levels, single thigh stretch can be adapted to everyone. Staying on the floor helps you feel more supported, whereas bringing one foot to the footbar tests stability and deepens that stretch even further 👏

One whole month of Towers💫

Time flies when you’re having fun! We can’t quite believe we’ve had the Towers at Elevate for over a month now. The team here have loved teaching Tower and introducing many of you to this new way of practicing Pilates.

Thank you to everyone who’s jumped in and given it a go, and ultimately fallen in love with it as much as us! We can’t wait to keep building on the Towers (while of course still loving our Reformer practice too!) 💙

This week in our Level Series we are advancing Plow, a gentle beginner exercise for our shoulders that can definitely be advanced with more dynamic moves🔥

Coming into a high kneel or standing for your advanced option can challenge core strength and stability, as well as working other muscle groups like our quads, hamstring’s and glutes 💪

We’re back with our Levels Series, this week, side planks 🥵

I think we all have a love / hate relationship with this exercise, but there’s no denying how good it is for our core and specifically those obliques 💪

This exercise can be levelled up once core and shoulder strength increases, demonstrated here by Cheryl, Emma and Frankie 💫
