You may have recently received information about a new pharmacy opening locally. We would like to reassure all our patients that you can continue to use Hootons Pharmacy on Lee Lane as normal, and there is no need to switch pharmacies.

Your prescriptions will continue to be processed by Hootons in the usual way, and our team remains here to provide the same friendly, reliable service you know and trust.

• are aged 65 or over (including those who will be 65 by 31 March 2026)
• have certain long-term health conditions
• are pregnant
• live in a care home
• are the main carer for an older or disabled person, or receive a carer's allowance
• live with someone who has a weakened immune system
• are a frontline health or social care worker

You can book your appointment now via the NHS website

We’re experiencing ongoing issues with our phone line and we may be unable to hear you when you call. Our service provider is aware and working to resolve the issue.

If this happens, we’ll let you know before ending the call.

If you are calling regarding a prescription please first check via your original method of ordering, that it has been approved by your GP and sent to the pharmacy. If the prescription was approved more than 2 full working days ago, call into the pharmacy in person as our technical issues may have also affected our collection text message service.

This is also a reminder that as from the 6th May, ALL repeat prescriptions requests must now be made 7 days before you run out of medication directly with your surgery. This is to allow 3-4 working days for your GP surgery to process and approve, and a further 2 working days for us to order in any necessary stock and get your prescription ready for collection.

If you have run out of medication, and your request was only sent in the last 2-3 days, you can now use the NHS 111 service via phone, or by using their website, to request an emergency supply of most items (please note this may not be possible for certain types of medication).
