🧸🐴 LITTLE RIDERS, BIG ADVENTURES! 🐴🧸

Our Tiny Tots sessions are a lovely introduction to ponies for children aged 2–5 years.

Little ones can enjoy meeting the ponies, grooming, learning simple pony-care skills and building confidence in a friendly and relaxed environment. 💜

These sessions are perfect for creating special memories while helping children develop balance, coordination and confidence around animals.

🐴✨ Our After-School Club Is Coming Back! ✨🐴

Starting the week commencing 14th September, children can join us for two fun-filled hours at the yard:

🐎 Mondays: 4pm–6pm
🐎 Wednesdays: 4pm–6pm

Sessions will include plenty of hands-on pony care, grooming, stable activities and time with our lovely ponies in a friendly and supportive environment.

🐴 Important Membership Update 🐴

After a lot of thought, I have decided that I will no longer be offering loan memberships for any of my horses or ponies.

All current loan memberships will, of course, be honoured, but I won’t be accepting any new ones going forward.

The yard is now moving in the direction I have worked hard to achieve, and I need to focus my time and energy on our riding lessons, therapy sessions, clubs and community work.

Our Home Education sessions begin the week commencing 14th September, with only five spaces available in each group:

✨ Wednesday: 10am–12pm
✨ Friday: 1:30pm–3:30pm

Children will enjoy hands-on pony care, stable activities and time learning with our lovely ponies in a relaxed and supportive environment. 💜

We currently have availability to welcome new groups for regular or one-off sessions at our friendly, supportive yard.

Our sessions are ideal for:

✨ Youth and wellbeing groups
✨ Home-education groups

Sessions can include hands-on pony care, grooming, stable management, confidence-building activities and equine-assisted wellbeing, tailored to suit the needs and abilities of each group.

We are fully insured, and our staff hold enhanced DBS checks, safeguarding and first-aid training.

🐴 A Brilliant Inspection! 🐴

Today we had our inspection, and everything went amazingly well! We received fantastic feedback on the care and condition of our horses and ponies, their welfare, tack fitting and condition, our facilities, records and the overall running of the yard. ❤️

I’ve been away over the weekend and have also been extremely busy with the inspection today, so I have lots of messages to catch up on. I’ll reply to everyone as soon as I have time—please bear with me. Thank you for your patience and support! 🥰🐴

🐴💜 PROFESSIONAL PONY VISITS—WE BRING THE PONIES TO YOU! 💜🐴

Shelly Equine Assisted Therapy CIC provides professional off-site pony visits for care homes, schools, SEND provisions, community groups and other organisations across our local area.

Our gentle, carefully selected ponies can visit people at their own venue, making the experience accessible to those who may be unable to travel to our yard.

Visits can include:

✨ Meeting, stroking and grooming the ponies
✨ Encouraging conversation and happy memories
✨ Supporting emotional wellbeing
✨ Reducing loneliness and isolation
✨ Developing confidence and communication
✨ Taking photographs and making special memories

For your reassurance:

✅ All staff are fully insured
✅ All staff hold enhanced DBS checks
✅ Safeguarding procedures are followed
✅ Visits are carefully planned and risk assessed
✅ Our ponies are accompanied by experienced handlers
✅ The welfare of our ponies and participants is always our priority
✅ Activities can be adapted for different ages, abilities and additional needs
✅ Relevant paperwork can be provided before the visit

We will work with your team beforehand to discuss access, individual needs and the safest location for the visit, ensuring everyone has a relaxed, enjoyable and meaningful experience.

📚🐴 International Literacy Day 🐴📚

At Shelly Equine, we know that learning doesn’t always have to begin at a desk. It can happen while reading a pony’s feed instructions, learning new horse-care words, following signs around the yard or recording achievements and progress. ❤️

Every child learns differently, and hands-on experiences with our ponies can make learning feel relaxed, meaningful and fun. Today we’re celebrating every learner, every small step and every growing bit of confidence. 🌟

The 2026 theme is “Literacy for people, the planet and prosperity”—a lovely reminder that learning can open doors and create opportunities for everyone.
