I did it! ✨

Well- we did I it ❤️ It was a team effort this weekend with family helping and supporting. Thank you for always being amazing.

It was so special having my family there. There is nothing like seeing them on course and hearing them cheer you on.

It was such an amazing weekend. Thank to everyone that volunteered, shouted my name, cheered me on- it really helped.

What a full circle moment. Magic ✨

Lots to post. But for now I’m putting my feet up.

Well done to everyone who raced today. You are all incredible.

🥰

I’m sat in my hotel room- transition bags packed and trying to relax (easier said than done a few days out from an event 😩🤣).

I thought I’d share my photo book- a little gem I have from my first year with the amazing and my first experience of Bolton back in 2011.

What an experience it was. Supporting injured servicemen and women in training and on the day as they took on the three disciplines using adaptive bikes and racing wheelchairs.

We went on to do the full Ironman course 3 times in total - each time alongside different amazing service uses and staff. All of whom are some of the most incredible people I’ve ever met.

I have been thinking about my team mates today whilst registering for the 70.3 ✨

So much has changed in the last 15 years. Regardless of having done these things before- I’m nervous.

I will be one of the last people to cross the line on Sunday- and that’s ok by me. I hope I make the cut offs and get in on time.

But Sunday is about having fun- whatever happens. It’s about feeling proud of myself for getting to the start line. It’s about drawing on those memories and strengths, and showing my girls that we can do hard and cool things like this.

They will be on the course cheering me on alongside my wonderful hubby and family. I can’t wait to see them.

Scared and brave. Always.

We’ve got this 🙌🏻💪✨

I have the best friends.

Another amazing friend willing to travel to see me and train with me- how lucky am I.

2 busy mums giving triathlon another go after having children. We did Windermere tri together last year and loved it.

Apart from the surprise killer climb on the bike (thanks hubby) it was a smooth weekend 😩🤣 We got up it tho 💪🙌🏻

Training wise we covered 65k on the bike with 1 mile run off the bike and a 2k swim the following day. I’ll take that. These hills are no joke!

I’ve not felt 100% well this week so this was a big win to cover this mileage.

Lots of laughs, fab company, a beaut meal out, a fab cafe stop on the bike and more miles bagged for my Ironman 70.3 in 4 weeks time.

Thank you for training for our ‘fun catch up weekend’ 😂 just to keep me company on the bike and help me stay motivated with training when you’re not even doing the event. Respect 🫡

I feel so grateful for your time, energy, encouragement and friendship. If I can swim half as fast as you one day I’ll be happy 🤩🐟

The miles go down over the next 4 weeks and I’m ready for it tbh. Now to tick over with training (still some miles to cover but not as much) . A big focus for me now is to do some open water swims, stay injury and illness free 🤞🏻🤞🏻 and to make it to the start line well and rested -well as much as I can (IYKYK mamas) ❤️

I am feeling very grateful for the friends in my life.

Motherhood can feel lonely sometimes and so can training for something like this.

So thank you to all of my friends and family. Thank you for coming to train with me, checking in with me, supporting me and my crazy ideas and events, reminding me I can do this, telling me I’m crazy 🤣, coming to help with the girls- all of it. I love you all.

Today’s long run was 10miles and took me 2hrs 3mins ish. I walked the uphills and ran the flats and downs. I just kept to this rhythm and didn’t stop.

Well- apart from here- I had to stop and take this view in- it was beaut ✨

I lost track of time, my mind slowed down and I was feeling calm. Magic.

Sometimes nervous system regulation comes from meeting sympathetic energy with activity. We can’t always calm an active system with relaxation. This was one of these days.

It felt hard today tho-after 6 miles my body was ready to relax. My mind felt strong- I could have kept going. I was enjoying listening to my podcast and the headspace was refreshing. But my body was tired.

Proud that I kept going. And I’m glad it’s in the bag.

But now I’m focusing on rest for the next few days. Low energy, slow, restorative stuff (when I can). My system needs it and I’m listening.

Fuel, sleep, magnesium bath salts and I’ve got a sports massage booked for Monday which I’m both excited and scared for tbh!

But-Longest bike ride and run this week- happy days 🙌🏻💪.

Today was the longest and hilliest bike ride I’ve done in years.

I loved it. It’s given me a confidence boost for sure.

I didn’t take a single photo. But trust me it was beaut.

Finally feeling like I can notice some strength and endurance building on the bike. It’s no joke cycling in the lakes!

Turns out not having your back brake on helps too! 😎

Oh and I’ve met a few Women to cycle with which has made it fun again. I’m not as anxious or nervous going out when I have company. Magic ✨

7 weeks until Bolton 70.3. All the longest sessions to come over the next few weeks before slowing down and heading to the start-line.

But for now- time to rest and recover before my long run this weekend.

And be proud of my achievement today 💪❤️

Ps- I’m so tired after a long bike ride but also so relaxed. Nervous system regulating but make it active ✨

Can’t believe it 🤣😩😎

Also- happy days.
