🌱🍄 PRIVATE FORAGING BOOKINGS 🌻🌸

I’m feeling incredibly grateful for all the private bookings coming in and really excited for everything that’s still to come this year.

One of the things I love most about private foraging experiences is exploring the wild abundance right on your doorstep. The footpaths, parks, woodlands and hedgerows you pass regularly suddenly become places filled with edible, medicinal and fascinating wild treasures. It often changes the way people see their local area and fosters a deeper connection.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed taking families out on foraging adventures, sharing discoveries with curious children and helping create wonderful memories together. Equally, I completely understand that some adults prefer the peace, slower pace and space to focus, learn and immerse themselves in nature without distractions.

Private bookings can be tailored entirely to you—whether you’re a complete beginner, looking to build confidence with identification, interested in wild food and wellbeing, or simply wanting a unique experience with friends, family or colleagues.

📍 Local to your area

🍄 Seasonal wild foods, plants and fungi
👥 Individuals, couples, families and small groups

Thank you to everyone who has booked so far. It truly is a privilege to share these wild spaces with you and help you discover the incredible abundance growing all around us.

If you’d like to arrange a private foraging experience, I’d love to hear from you. 🧡🌼

🍄 CHICKEN OF THE WOODS 🧡

Meet Chicken of the Woods — a spectacular bracket fungus known for its vivid sulphur-yellow and orange colours and its remarkably chicken-like texture when cooked.

You’ll often find it growing in overlapping shelves on broadwood trees, particularly oak, from late spring through autumn.

But before you rush off to harvest it, here’s a few cautions...

✔ Always be 100% certain of your identification
✔ Harvest young, fresh growth only — older specimens become tough and less palatable
✔ Avoid specimens growing on yew trees, as these may absorb toxic compounds
✔ Some people experience digestive upset, so always try a small amount first
✔️ Harvest sustainably leave some behind !

When young and tender, it’s delicious transformed into veggie chicken like tenders, added to curries, stews or pulled chicken like tacos

One of my favourites but I think I say that about most edible shrooms, eyes peeled 👀

Have you ever found Chicken of the Woods? Pl let me know below! 👇🍄
