Another week of a variety of activities here at The Denby.
From trips out to the community coming in. Everybody shows up for choir practice!! Arts and crafts and mind boggling resident led discussions.

✨️🤔 our very own space enthusiast Brian held a discussion group asking "did we really go to the moon in the 60's?" And out of a group of approx 13, a good 95% believed we had . . . . before we began disecting the arguments for and against this big question, leaving us at 50/50 afterwards.
Our residents thoroughly enjoyed digging into history and then drawing their own conclusions.
They are also keen to have more discussion groups like this, we've done JFK, we've now done the moon landing and they have now requested we dig into to the truth behind Mrs Wallis Simpson and also Princess Mary,
Two subjects our residents have raised as interesting and believed to have hidden secrets surrounding them.

✨️🪡😊 Today our ladies and gents have had a visit from our friends at the Skelmanthorpe Library whom we first met via the "Woven in Kirklees project". We are so grateful to Miranda, Nicki and Val for taking time to show us their various woven items, share their knowledge and skills with us. What a great afternoon it has been. Our residents were keen to look and touch the items, and even have a go at some weaving and share memories, stories and items of their own!
Thank you so much everyone who took part and we'll look forward to welcoming the ladies back again soon!! 😊🪡✨️

✨️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦😊 Shepley Nursery were here again yesterday, always a BIG treat for our ladies and gents! Painting rainbows 🌈 together to celebrate pride in our individuality as we enter June, the month of Pride and then taking control of the snack trolley the kids visited every resident to have a little chat and hand out treats before enjoying some them selves! This is one of the favourites on our calender, the residents always look forward to seeing children. Thank you Shepley Pre School!! We'll look forward to seeing you again!! 😊👨‍👩‍👧‍👦✨️
