How Stress Shows Up in the Body
We often think of stress as something that affects our thoughts and emotions, but it can also show up physically.
You might notice:
✨ Muscle tension
✨ Headaches
✨ Jaw clenching or teeth grinding
✨ Fatigue
✨ Digestive discomfort
✨ Changes in your sleep
✨ Finding it difficult to switch off and truly relax
When stress becomes ongoing, our nervous system can spend more time in a state of alertness. We may become so used to holding tension that we don’t even realise we’re doing it.
A simple way to support yourself
Taking a few moments during the day to slow your breathing and bring your attention back to your body can create a small pause from the busyness of everyday life.
The NHS has a simple breathing exercise for stress that you may like to try:

Sometimes, something as simple as stopping, breathing and noticing how we feel can be a helpful reminder to give ourselves a little more space.
And where does Craniosacral Therapy fit in?
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that offers a quiet, supportive space where you can slow down, rest and reconnect with yourself.
CST works in a gentle way with the body and nervous system, supporting a sense of relaxation and greater ease. It can provide an opportunity to pause, step away from the demands of everyday life and allow patterns of stress and tension to soften over time.
Every session is tailored to you, creating a calm and nurturing environment where you can simply take some time for yourself.
