Are you the mum you always wanted to be?
Before becoming a parent, most of us had a version of motherhood we quietly imagined. Patient. Calm. Always understanding. Present in every moment.
Then reality arrives.
And suddenly it’s not just love and connection. It’s exhaustion. Mental load. Pressure. Noise. Guilt. Repeating patterns you thought you’d never repeat.
And here’s the uncomfortable question most people avoid: if you’re not being the mum you thought you would be, what’s actually getting in the way?
Is it lack of knowledge? Or is it something deeper?
The way you were raised. The beliefs you absorbed without realising. The expectations you’re still trying to meet. The pressure to hold everything together.
Because most mums don’t need more information. They need space to notice what’s running underneath their reactions.
And that changes everything.
Not because you suddenly become a “perfect mum”, but because you start seeing yourself more clearly in the moments that used to run you.
And from there, choice slowly returns.
So I’ll ask again: are you the mum you always wanted to be?
