A blood test which could detect early signs of Alzheimer's is being rolled out to patients via their GP as part of a "landmark" study. More than 50 practices in Scotland are taking part in the research, with up to 500 people to be referred. An estimated 60,000 people across the country have Alzheimer's, a type of dementia affecting memory, thinking, and behaviour.

A Derbyshire care home is set to expand its number of bedrooms to accommodate for the "increasing demand" in specialist care. Heanor Park Care Home has been granted planning permission by Amber Valley Borough Council to add 7 bedrooms to its premises, taking the total number of rooms up to 62.

Age is just a number – and that's especially true of the super-sprightly Bill Kober. The 98-year-old, who lives in Suffolk, does at least 40 press-ups every day without fail – 20 in the morning and another 20 in the evening 😃
